FC: Our First Cruise, The Bahamas

Carlos & Yvette | We went on our first cruise in January 2011. It left out of Jacksonville, FL so we drove all night to get there. The cruise was going to Freeport & Nassau in the Bahamas & some of our best friends Tony & Elisha went with us. We always have fun together, no matter what we do. | Tony & Elisha | It was chilly when we first got on the boat but it warmed up quickly.

We were so excited to get on the boat and explore our new home for the next 5 days. We couldn't go straight to our room so we decided to walk around & found one of the dining areas & bar. We took in the view of the main pool while we waited for the announcement that the rooms were ready. After munching on some food they made the announcement & we made our way to our rooms, #E137 (Aleman) & #E141 (Ramos).

Enjoying some time on the deck by the main bar & pool.

Enjoying our first night by the sunset while listening to music.

 The first night's sunset!

The first port was Freeport, Bahamas. The water was so clear, so blue so COLD. We didn't have anything planned for the day, we really just wanted to walk around & take it all in. A couple of things I learned while we were there were that they drive on the opposite side of road & a lot of them have an English accent.

We strolled along the beach for a while & checked out their local market for souvenirs. Funny thing... we came all the way here & ate at Subway.

Lucayan Beach The beach was so clean and the sand was white. They offered different excursions like parasailing, jet skis, and a water trampoline. I wanted to get in but the water was so cold. Of course the locals are use to it so they are pretty much the only ones in the water.

We saw this lighthouse & it looked so pretty that we wanted a closer look so we went on a little walk.

On the way back to the market we came across this pirate looking ship. Although the sign said no trespassing, that didn't stop Carlos.

I always show off my Longhorn spirit!

There are so many things to do on the boat. On one of the nights we decided to check out the comedy club. We got pretty good seats, ordered drinks and we were ready to laugh. We were there to see Comedian Scotty K. He has a contract with Carnival & honestly was one of the funniest comedians I've seen. I thought he was so funny I became his friend on FB in case he's ever in town. | We loved our drinks, I even bought the recipe book. | Being silly...

 Captain's Formal Dinnner

Dinner & a dance. During the formal dinner they asked for all the couples to get up & slow dance. It was nice. Thanks for taking the picture Tony.

 So excited to be here.

When we woke up & saw Atlantis we were so excited.

The Queens | Stop... King Tony is about to speak :) | My prince, Carlos

Leap of Faith Water Slide It's a 60 ft. almost vertical drop from the top. You go through a clear acrylic tunnel in the sharks tank.

A view from the top into the shark's tank | Side view the shark tank & tunnel

Part of The Dig | Fish, Rays & Piranhas OH MY!

More sea life... | Lobster's Lagoon | Starfish & some type of stingray.

The Dig & Ruins Lagoon Home to over 1,000 exotic sea creatures. It took us over 2 hours to get through it & it was breathtaking to see so many different fish, sharks, rays and many more. One of my favorite was the seahorses, they are so cute. The only thing missing were sea turtles.

 The Beach... just breathtaking.

The view from the top of the water slide. NICE...

 Relaxing in the hot tub.

Different views of the water park.

Tony & Carlos playing in the sand. So cute!

The Beach | The different shades of blue in the water were so amazing. I'd never seen water so pretty.

We had Tony & Carlos enter a contest without knowing what it was. They found out that a lady would have to get on their backs and then they had to see how many push ups they could do. Needless to say that her boyfriend won with 21 push ups.

I entered a scavenger hunt contest. I came in 3rd but I had so much fun. Some of the things I had to do were: 1. Find someone who had a $100 bill 2. Find someone with false teeth 3. Bring back a blue "carnival" towel 4. I finally lost when I had to bring back 4 rolls of toilet paper :( It was fun though.

On the last night we took in a show. We had a great time & I have to say that the whole crew did an amazing job with everything. We'll be back soon...
