FC: Outreach 360 ~ Dominican Republic April 13 - 22, 2012
First sights in the Dominican Republic | Banana plantations are everywhere. | This is how many people in the Dominican Republic live. | Haitians on truck. They were not happy with me for taking this photo.
We make it to Outreach 360! Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic
Water & snacks were always ready for us.
3rd floor of Outreach 360 Main Building. | View of park from 3rd floor of Main Building. | Many hours of fun were had at this park!
We toured the area our first day there. | Joleah with local artist. | DR hero Manuel Tavarez. | Erin with friends. | Joleah & friend.
These little markets were everywhere. | Ever present banana trucks. | A local man gutting fish on sidewalk near our room.
 Erin at JFK School
Liam at English Institute and Solomon Jorge Neighborhood Center.
 More from JFK School
Hanging out with friends in the park was one of the best parts of the trip!
Fun at El Morro National Park
On our way to Boys' Orphanage in Jaibon, we stop for ice cream. | Pegero and this trusty bus got us everywhere we needed to. | Aaah - ice cream!
Leader Mario Kucera - the kids love him! | Some of the boys trying to catch a chicken. | The boys care for the animals, though ultimately this pig will become dinner! | At the Boys' Orphanage in Jaibon

The Massacre River separates the DR and Haiti. During just a few weeks in October 1937, Dominican soldiers killed 30,000 Haitians along this river border because the victims' skin was dark, even though Dominicans were just a few shades lighter.
Liam with "Ariel the Fantastic." We'll miss everyone! | Our last day in the DR
 Sad faces because we're leaving.
