FC: East Africa | Welcome! | sobia syeda
The region | East Africa is near the equator, exactly4o N and 4o S Latitude, and 34o E and 41o E longitude. | East Africa's climate is surprisingly cool and dry for it's latitude
People make a living by farming
wet seasons are influenced by warm, moist, monsoonal north-westerlies. These winds, originating in equatorial regions, bring prolific rains to northern coastal areas. | With dry south-east winds (moister on the east coast), cooler temperatures, greater temperature variation during the day, clear skies and low humidity. Light rains may fall, particularly in the south-east portions, during the early months but can occur in any month.
One out of the few ecosystems in east Africa are Savannas.
Savannas are mostly rolling grasslands. | Savannas
The Savannas in east Africa are filled with a lot of organisms. Since it's similar to grasslands it contains many plants. There is a lot of bark that can be used to build houses, and such in farms. | Biotic and Abiotic factors
Some communities in Savannas include farms, where people work together to get food from crops. | Communities
One of the populations found in East African Savannas | Population
Organisms | Baobab Tree (plant) | Found in Savannas
 Mushroom (fungus) | Plasmodium (Protist)
The Baobab Tree is a Eukaryotic organism. It's multi-cellular, and autotrophic, meaning it can make it's own food. It reproduces like any organism in the plant kingdom.
In page 5, Communities include in many plants. They provide food, oxygen and much more for other organisms like animals.
HOw do plants help their surroundings?
Overall, I learned that about East Africa's ecosystems and much of it's organisms.
I learned how all these factors Interact with each other and make a living in the Savannas. | most of all I learned more about one of Africa's most amazing landforms.
