S: London, Paris & Greenwich...Oh my! 2011
Dear Aunt Di, We couldn't be more happy we took on this adventure with you. Through some of the eventful moments like losing mom in Paris, and some of the unforgettable moments like you hobbling through the streets of England and France, we always had you there to help lighten the mood. Although we had our stressful moments, we loved every minute of it. We couldn't be more blessed to have such an amazing person in all of our lives, and even though your thousands of miles away, your always close in our hearts. We hope you have an amazing Christmas and we're so glad your here celebrating it with us. We love you to the moon and back. Love always, Allison, Katelyn, Vic, and Amy
Travel to London | After an all night flight (with little sleep for some ), we met up at Heathrow after security finally decided to let Diane into the country even though she did not have the address of our flat. This foreshadowed some of our upcoming traveling misadventures!
Flat in Greenwich | The flat was in a great location with plenty of room for all. It quickly became our home away from home. Despite their best efforts, Aunt Di and Amy never did figure out how to work the washer/dryer combo thingy!
Aunt Di arranged a private tour of London where we got a good feel for the city and for what to do on our own. | Private Tour
Mews , Changing of the guard, The Tower of London, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben.
The Tower originally served as the royal residence, but was later used primarily as the prison. It is now known for housing the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom. | The Tower of London
Buckingham Palace & The Changing of the Guard
' | Buckingham Palace, Churchill's War Room, Harrods, The Royal Mews, St. Paul's Cathedral. | Exploring on our own
Mind the Gap! | Our first Fish n Chip experience was not a good one or a cheap one! | Aunt Di struggled with the pounds and pence, finally resorting to just giving clerks handfuls of change for them to figure it out.
Greenwich Park, the alley in front of our flat (good people watching spot), the park/cemetery we walked through every day and one of our dinner spots. Remember tipping the guy with American dollars?? | Greenwich
 The London Eye
 Queen's Bum! | The Queen
 The Tube
Our 24 hours in Paris!! | The hotel was interesting...a definite Ambien night for Aunt Di!
. | The Louvre | The Louvre will always be remembered by Allison's statement upon seeing The Mona Lisa..."THAT'S IT?" Suppose we should have told her in advance that it was small!
The Eiffel Tower | Built 1889, the Eiffel Tower has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower stands 1,063 ft tall and the views from the top are breathtaking.
The Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame
Hampton Court Palace & Gardens | The Palace, outside of London is home to a famous hedge maze. We toured some of the palace, but it was the end of the trip and the girls had lost interest!
