FC: The Most Exotic Place in The World CHERNOBYL

According to the Forbes Chernobyl nowadays is the most exotic place in the world. Only Chernobyl can offer you sightseeings, feelings and emotions, which you’ll never find anywhere in the world. Twenty-five years after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, different traveling companies offer an ecological tour of the power plant. Visitors get to see a reactor, the "dead town" of Pripyat, and the "red forest" where pine trees turned reddish orange because of radiation.

In 1970 the building of the Chernobyl AES was started. At the same time began the foundation of Pripyat. The city of power engineers. The first power unit was under construction seven years. These were years of hard work of builders, as there were essential problems with materials and equipment. In September 1977 the first power unit started its work, The second started in January 1979, the third and fourth in 1981 and 1983 accordingly. Important to know that before starting last two units, was an idea to create the fifth and sixth units. In 1981 the building works were started. In January 1986 was planed the start of the fifth power unit.

On 26 April 1986, at 01:23 a.m. (UTC+3), reactor 4 suffered a catastrophic power increase, leading to explosions in the core. This dispersed large quantities of radioactive fuel and core materials into the atmosphere and ignited the combustible graphite moderator . The accident occurred during an experiment scheduled to test a potential safety emergency core cooling feature, which took place during the normal shutdown procedure.

Though, according to the law all people were evacuated, many of them returned in the same year. In 1986 1200 people returned to their homes. Nowadays population of Pripyat is 314 people. Settlers don’t live locally, but spread within 11 settlements. | Settlers

Interesting to know that average age of settlers is 63 years. The main existence source for this people is hunting, fishing, gathering mushrooms and berries. Sometimes people living out of the zone help settlers, exactly in repairing houses and maintaining medicines. Ecocenter tests goods produced by settlers on quantity of radiation.

Another settlers are children of nature – wild animals. Some of them not so wild as we used to imagine. For example first photo shows us wild dogs. These are hairs of domestic husky and wild wolves. Wild dogs behaved like wolves, but were rather friendly to people. After the disaster a group of scientists lived in Pripyat so they feed wild dogs, but when they left , the troop ceased its existence. This fact proved that even half domestic animals can’t live without a human. But another domestic animal such as a cat exist even without human, though prefer to settle near human’s settlements. | Another Settlers

Another animals absolutely wild. Such as foxes, wolves, wild boars and well known Przhevalskiy horses. Though meating with these animals could be dangerous for people, many of them are not afraid of people and are rather friendly.

Nowadays Chernobyl is one of the most attractive touristic places in the world. Different organizations offers tours to the 10-km zone. Though Forbes recognized Chernobyl as the most exotic place in the world it didn’t make a good advertisement. Still left people who afraid of radiation there. But researches of scientists prove us that it is rather save to go there. Average radiating background is 50-100 microX-Ray/h that is almost save. For example in Kiev average radiating background is 12-20 MicroX-Ray/h. So the dose which you get in zone is equal to the Atlantic flight by plane.

It is really worth to see a phantom city. It is full of sightseeings. It is a city were time stopped in the Soviet period, and being there you feel like you traveled in the time machine. The most attractive place is Luna park, which never heard children’s laugh. It was planned to open it on the 1st of May I think that this Ferris Wheel is more famous than London’s one.

Pripyat attracts many people with its emptiness. It is museum-city, and never mind which mood did you have when enter the city, you would leave it with a heavy thoughts. It is always scary to be in a place which should full of people, but it is empty. Empty streets, empty houses, empty schools. Each minute you are waiting that people will appear, but nobody appears. It is really scary and as a rule exactly this feeling attracts people to visit museum city, which serves as a remembrance to all people that atom isn’t a friend, and it can destroy everything on its way. But it is always serves as a proof that earlier or later the LIFE will win the battle with technogenic disaster.
