BC: Kathy, Thank you for organizing a great family vacation. Young and old alike enjoyed our time in the sun.

FC: Hawaii | 2007

O'ahu Waikiki Beach November 13, 2007 | We flew into Honolulu and rented a purple Monte Carlo. We found our hotel easily in Waikiki. We were on the 31st floor and had a gorgeous view of the water. We went and found dinner on our way to the beach. We enjoyed the beach and had sand where sand shouldn't be. We ended the evening with a stroll through the International Market and we couldn't pass up the shaved ice. Sam took the kids swimming in the pool on the roof. | Resort Quest Pacific Monarch

 Waikiki

 Beach

Chinaman's Hat | Under the Rainbow | November 14, 2007 Early to rise, Logan & mom go for a walk down Waikiki. We go to Northshore to go snorkeling. The waves on Northshore are to rough but we enjoy the view around the island. We stop at Hanuama Bay to snorkel. The kids do an amazing job and we see many different kinds of colorful fish. We go to the University of Hawaii and end the evening by strolling through the International Market and swimming on the roof of the hotel.

November 15, 2007 Rylie and Mom went for a walk on the beach. We started chasing waves and ended up wet. Grandma, Ray and all of us went to Hanuama Bay for another day of snorkeling. Kathy struggled with breathing, but finally went out until...someone noticed a snake. We stopped at Sandy Beach for some fun in the BIG waves. We spent our last night in Honolulu by eating at Planet Hollywood, watching the sunset and swimming. | WAVE RIDERS

Big Island Bound | November 16, 2007 Our time in Honolulu came to an end as we were off to the Big Island of Hawaii. It was a short puddle jumper flight and at the airport we rented a Chevy Trailblazer. We joined Dan, Kristy, Kathy and Ray at the Paniolo Greens in Waikoloa for the rest of our vacation. It was a beautiful condo on a golf course with our very own turkeys. We went to Sharky's for dinner and settled in for the night. We had lots to see and body surfing to do.

Nov 17, 2007 With Uncle Dan & Kristy we went to Kona to rent snorkeling equipment, explore the market and to dine at Bubba Gumps. We snorkeled, collected shells and spotted some sea turtles at the beach.

November 18, 2007 We visited the Activity Center and Rylie made a candy lei. We then headed to the Hilton Hotel to see the dolphins. Then we soaked up the rays boogie boarding.

 Boogie Boarding | Hapuna Beach

 Volcano

November 19th, Rylie and Mom went to the other side of the island to explore the volcano. What we thought was a short hike through the volcano turned into a 5 mile hike. With no water, It was an adventure. This put us behind schedule and we had to rush back for the luau. On the way, we stopped by Punaluu Black Sand Beach. Then it was off to the luau and we had to meet the family there.

Royal Kona Resort Present LAVA LEGENDS & LEGACIES LUAU

A great time with family shared at the luau. We enjoyed the punch, pig being removed from the pit, a lot of new food and great entertainment. To see them move their hips. Aaah...

November 20, 2007 We went back to our favorite beach with Kathy and Ray for some fun in the sun... boogie boarding and playing in the sand. That evening we played cards and the kids went for a swim at the pool. | Hapuna Beach

Sam & Alicia's Day | King Kamehameha Statue at Kapaau | Kauhola Lighthouse

November 20, 2007 Sam and Alicia were able to explore the north side of the island. We drove through the Kohala Mountains up to the tip of the island at Pololu Valley Overlook, over to the Kauhola Lighthouse near Kapaau. We then drove down the coast to visit the Observatory. Warm beaches to cold & snow. We ended the day with a nice dinner at Roy's.
