Hollywood Beach - Page Text Content

S: Hollywood Beach, FL: March 2011

BC: compiled by Mrs. Regina Hall

FC: Hollywood Beach, FL March 21 - 24, 2011

Elliott loves the beach - so he discovered.

We spent time on the beach and walked the Hollywood Broadwalk.

We did an off-Broadwalk tour as well. We walked at least three miles up N. Ocean Avenue.

Along N. Ocean Ave. | Side streets that intersect with the Broadwalk

We looked for food along N. Ocean Avenue, not too far from the hotel.

Transition to Day 2: We did a more indepth walking tour which was the entire Broadwalk, Hollywood North Beach Park and then we cut over to N. Ocean Avenue. Ended the trek with an attempt to board Tropical Adventure Cruise, which had to be postponed until day 3.

The Broadwalk has this pattern throughout. On the other side is a shower to wash off sand. Took a picture of this in honor of our daughter Ellishea Wilson Hall.

We ate here before a long, long walk. The name of the restaurant is Ocean Eleven.

There are souvenir shops along the Broadwalk and, as can be expected, you see interesting t-shirts.

Architectually speaking, the Positano is the most eye-catching building on the Broadwalk. We marvelled at it from all angles.

Elliott on the steps of the Positano

The Hollywood Broadwalk ends at Hollywood North Beach Park. As you enter, it becomes obvious there are a lot of cats there. So much so the locals call part of it Feline Row. | Elliott takes\s a photo of Regina taking a photo of a cat whose protector growls at Regina. Crazy chick yelled at the black cat who then scampered away.

No idea what type of tree this is but it is beautiful. Elliott liked it so much, he brought a piece of it home.

Elliott's solo adventures while Regina was in the room relaxing. These were taken from the parking structure of our hotel - Hollywood Beach Cruise Port and Resort.

This is day 3., our last full day. We walked maybe a third of the Boardwalk and bought some souvernirs.

This is day 3., our last full day. We actually hit the pool on this day as well as buy some souvernirs. The of the joint day is a boat cruise to Ft. Lauderdale. | The hotel has a hot tub, a kiddie pool and a larger pool. Regina took advantage of both. Elliott did his own thing.

Elliott did get in the pool with Regina but he didn't stay long. He moved on to the beach.

 Elliott's beach photos

Regina's wet look after hitting the pool

Backin the room for a minute. We both hit the pool, however at separate times.

We took a boat tour of Ft. Lauderdale

Regina had heard of the term drawbridge, but never saw one in operation until this tour leaving Hollywood Beach on the way to Ft. Lauderdale.

Guided, narrated tour of the Ft. Lauderdale homes of the rich and famous, courtesy of Tropical Adventure Cruises.

The tour of Ft. Lauderdale aboard the Tropical Adventure Cruise boat is over. This was our last activity together on day 3. Elliott took the following pictures on another solo adventure.

We're headed back to Detroit. Photobug Elliott is still capturing photo opps from the plane and even at the airport.
