Ocho Rios, Jamaica (Spanish for "Eight Rivers") is on the north coast of Jamaica. They are amongst the top in the world for sugar distribution and are known for Dunn's River Falls; the 900 plus feet of cascading waterfalls.

We've arrived in Jamaica!! After waking up at 4:00 am to catch our early flight, one stop in Charlotte, NC and a 2 hour bus ride from Montego Bay, Jamaica to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, we arrived to our resort Sandals Grande Riviera Beach & Villa Golf Resort. Things we learned our 1st Day: 1. They drive on the opposite side of the road in Jamaica! (and they drive like crazy people!!) 2. Stray cats on the resort are very common! 3. A Swim-Up Bar is the perfect remedy to a stressful day of traveling! | TheManor | Just Married

GRANDE RIVIERA BEACH This beach is considered Jamaica's most sought-after coastline known as the Caribbean Riviera. This vast resort is set amidst the lush beauty of the foothills, spanning from the St. Ann mountains down to Jamaica's coastline.

This is Jason. He said we looked very trustworthy, so he gave us one of his starfish from his collection of sea treasures. We came back the next day and paid him of course!

OCHI BEACH | DAY 2: FUN IN THE SUN & SAND Our first full day in Jamaica and we headed straight for the beaches!! Beautiful white sand and crystal clear waters -- we were in heaven!! Things we learned today: 1. We are not shy on vacation! We got involved in every contest and made lots of new friends!! 2. We did a resort "orientation" that consisted of a walking tour around the resort, so we were familiar with what the resort had to offer. Including, the 15 gourmet restaurants, beaches, night clubs, and spa. 3. During our orientation, we learned a new favorite Jamaican word - "boonoonoos." Meaning "my love."

beer chugging contest | JAIME'S BAR

BEACH FUN We spent the entire second day soaking up the sun on the beach, listening to reggae, drinking island beer, and living like islanders!

 beer chugging | CONTEST

BEACH CONTESTS John voluntarily joined the "beer chugging" contest, which meant him volunteering me when it came time for the women's contest. The women were thrown for a loop when they had to chug an entire beer out of a straw on all fours. Jessica came in second!

learning new dance moves | YEA 'MON

We ended the night with drinks and cigars on "Kelly's Dock" while looking at the stars and watching the night sky glow with lightning over the ocean.

 DAY | DAY

BEACH DAY SPA DAY After a "breadfruit" fell from a tree above us while having lunch at Bella Napoli's by the pool, we decided to head for the beach to relax! We drank a lot of "Icebergs" on the beach, which is a blend of margarita and Red Stripe beer - delicious and refreshing!! Saw some amazing fish including Mahi Mahi from a group's sea excursion. Enjoyed an amazing couple's massage at the Red Lane Spa. Aaaaaahhhhhhh!!! It was an hour long, full-body massage continued by sitting in the steam room, then taking a dip in the ice cold "plunge pool" for complete relaxation. Followed by refreshing cucumber water in the botanical room.

 Dinner with New

The best food all week at the Hibachi Grill! Made new friends over many, too many saki bombs. {Pam & Kenny - Nashville} {Eric & Tiffany - Boston} Dessert at the "Boonoonoos Chocolate Party"included models covered in chocolate, chocolate fondue, chocolate fountains, dark chocolate, white chocolate... Jessica attempted to sing at the piano bar. The "White Party" at the Amphitheater consisted of lots of dancing from everyone, including John and Kenny dancing on stage. We ended the night with an early morning swim in Pam & Kenny's private villa pool, soaking our sore toes and watching the sun rise!!

 Dunn's River Falls

CONGRATS!!!! We zig-zagged our way up the 600ft waterfall. The strenuous, yet amazing hike up the mountain was full of lots of surprises, some water up the nose, and the most incredible views. But we made the climb!!

 DAY | DAY | 5

Followed by a looooong bubble bath! We ate lunch at our favorite pool side made-to-order pizza joint! Our new friend Joel, a "playmaker" joined us. Relaxed by the pool the rest of the day!! Aaaaaaahhhhhhh!! BEER PONG! Team Jess played HORRIBLE! Team John WON!!
