FC: Kauai Dream Vacation 2012
1: Kauai Dream Vacation Joe & Brook Everett 30th Wedding Anniversary 2012 Best Vacation Ever! | We Have Been Wanting to go to Kauai for a very Long Time. Last Year it was Decided & so the Planning Began: We Planned it One Year in Advance & Paid for it Ahead of Time. Our Trip Started out Boarding the Plane in Eugene at 6:50 am & Arriving in Lihue, Hawaii around 2:20 p.m. The Flight Over Was Rough, the Pilot Had to go to 38,400 feet (Normal Altitude is 32,000 feet) to get out of the Head Winds. We Stayed at the Cozy Cottage in Kapa'a with Charlotte & John Lidgate. These People Were Very Gracious & Generous with Hospitality. We Felt Right at Home. We Stayed There for 12 Nights. We Rented an Economy Car from Dollar Car Rental. We Planned Our Events for Every Other Day & Having "Rest" Days in Between. The Pace on Kuaui is a lot Slower. The Average Speed Limit is 35 mph & Everyone Walks at a Slow Shuffle, Even the Young Folks. There are Jungle Fowl Chickens All Over the Island & the Cost of Everything is High! (21% Sales Tax!) There are a Large Number of Native Hawaiian Polynesian Peoples Here...Everyone is so Warm & Friendly...They Say There is a Lot of "Aloha" (Love) Here. The Air is Fresh & Clean all the Time. Both Joe & I Could Breath with Ease (no Sinus Troubles), The Weather is Very Moderate: It Gets to 76 to 78 degrees around 2:30 to 3 pm. & then Cools Down to About 62 Degrees around 8 pm. We Picked Fresh Passion Fruit & Processed it. We Mixed it with Orange & Pineapple Juice...WOW! What a Fantastic Flavor. We Had Such a Marvelous Time, so Relaxing & Enjoyable...We Shall Return. Hopefully it will not be Another 30 Years.
