Expect rain and overcast skies even in the summer. When packing to visit, in the summer bring a light jacket with warm weather clothes. In the winter bring a heavy coat and warmer clothes. Don't forget an umbrella no matter what season and be prepared to spend lots of money. Things in London tend to be overpriced. 11: Journal #1 | I'm arriving in London right now and it is beautiful! There are so many old buildings and the streets are crowded with people. A guide told me to check out Big Ben and ride the London Eye so I'm walking there right now. Every restaurant I walk by smells so wonderful, like fresh bread and coffee. I'm tempted to walk into a shop and grab a bite to eat but I need to save my appetite for later. I'm walking up to Big Ben and it is much taller than you'd think. It is about 3 minutes away from chiming so I will wait. The bell is so loud and I nearly jumped when it sounded but most Londoners didn't even notice. I guess when you live here 24/7 you get used to it. I'm walking over to the London Eye which is right next to Big Ben and it is even taller! I have to wait in line for about 30 minutes but apparently it is well worth the wait. I'm stepping into a large circular room with other people and up we go! It takes another half hour to get to the very top but the view is breath taking. I can see every part of London including all the parks and even Buckingham Palace where the Royal Family lives. | View from London Eye

Nandos | Right now it is lunch time and I am starving. There are so many restaurants to choose from and each sounds and smells delicious. A friend told me to eat at a specific one called Nandos, just a regular restaurant that serves everything but it's specialty is chicken. After lunch I continue sight seeing and decide to go to the Tower of London. I learn from a guide that it is where the crown jewels are kept and each evening a ceremony is performed that locks the tower. In the past many people were held prisoner there. The next thing on my list of things to do is to go to the British museum. It is completely free and offers over 2 million different objects from many eras in history ranging from the stone age to WWII. I decide to explore the ancient Egypt section and see a mummy from 3500 B.C. | Tower of London | Journal #2

Journal #3 | Since I spent most of my time in the British museum it is already dark outside and the city is glowing with lights. The London Eye looks like a giant spider web at night and despite the fact that the sun is gone there are still numerous people outside. Since I cant visit the parks right now decide to go shopping. I walk around to many shops and cover my arms in shopping bags full of clothes and souvenirs. Before I call it a night a spot a charming little shop that sells everything you could possibly want from The Beatles. I fill another bag full of merchandise and head back to my hotel. | London at night

After a good nights sleep I'm ready to take on the day. I first head to the many parks London has to offer. I start at Hyde park which is the largest of the Royal parks. It is filled with tons of trees, a few ponds and lots of wildlife. I walk down one of the scenic paths and stop at a small pond. A lady is handing out bread to feed the ducks with and I ask for a piece. As I throw it in they gobble it up. After my visits with the parks I take a double decker bus down to the famous Thames river. I hop into a small boat and enjoy a ride down the river while seeing many places. | Journal #4 | Hyde Park | The Thames

Compare and Contrast London and Springdale | London and Springdale, Arkansas are both places I would like to visit even though I have already been to Springdale. London is a very big city with a population of over 8,000,000, on the other hand Springdale is a small city with a population of only about 71,000. I have never been to London but I have lived in Springdale for over seven years. Springdale is in Arkansas which is in the United States while London is the capital of Great Britain in Europe. | Buildings in London

Path in London | After my journey to London I feel more experience and smarter. I have met many new people, learned about the European culture and I made many memories. On my journey though school I have learned a lot and I'm glad to be spending it with people as nice as you. I have learned many things in school but I will never truly be done learning.

London is a very cultural and beautiful city with so much to offer. It is one of the many cities you should visit before you die. "When a man is tired to London he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford." -Samuel Johnson | British Flag
