The legend of Hollywood goes far beyond the borders of Los Angeles. It affects the whole state of California. Whether it extends to San Francisco, San Diego, and Sacramento, California always finds a way to shine.

During the Mexican American War, U.S. soldiers were seeing resistance from Mexican Generals. They didn't want Los Angeles to be part of the U.S. On April 4th 1850 Los Angeles | became part of California and the United States. Events like the Gold Rush, Trans-continental Railroad, the discovery of oil in California, and the rise of the Movie industry led to California's rise in population by two million people. During the period of WWI, The Lockhead Brothers and Donald Douglas established the aviation manufacturing plants in Los Angeles. This led to a bunch of contracts which pulled Los Angeles out of the Great Depression.

In Los Angeles, there are more theaters than in any city in the United States. Los Angeles is the sidekick to Broadway. Some of the greatest musicals started in Los Angeles and then Broadway accepted them. One of the most memorable nights in Los Angeles would be going to a musical or dance.

This is a map of Los Angeles. This map is of tourist attractions in Los Angeles. It also shows some towns in Los Angeles. The towns are the black with white dots in them.

As shown on the climate chart, Los Angeles rarely gets very cold. There is really no bad time of year to travel to Los Angeles. A person could go anytime of year, but the best time if looking for warmth and sun would be the summer. If you would go to Los Angeles you would pack for hotter weather. T-shirts, shorts, swimsuit, and a light jacket for cooler nights.

Los Angeles is just like any other town in the United States. There are various languages spoken, but the prominent language used is English. The food is basically the same as in other US Cities. It offers a variety of Mexican, American, Italian, Chinese, Indian, and Japanese foods. The appropriate dress attire would be just regular dress unless a formal restaurant.

The Los Angeles Lakers franchise started in 1947. Currently today it is considered the most successful profitable NBA team. They play at the Staples Center and share the facility with other LA Teams. The last time the Lakers won the championship was 2010. The Lakers have won the NBA championship 11 times. | The last time the Lakers went to the NBA finals was 2010. The Lakers have been to the finals 25 times. The last time the Lakers went to the playoffs was in 2012. The Lakers have been to the playoffs 48 times. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, Karl Malone, and Jerry West are the the best of many people who have played for the Lakers. The Lakers are one of the best historical teams in the NBA.

We arrive in Los Angeles at 4:30 pm their time. All I wanted to do was go to the beach. As soon as we checked into our hotel, I ran into our room, got into my swimsuit and then flung myself into the ocean. The water felt as relaxing as getting a massage. My sister and I were having a water fight---it was a blast! As soon as I got splashed about 7 times I knew it was the start of a great vacation.

On my second day in California, we went shopping on Rodeo Drive. It is an area where the very rich tend to shop. At the end of the day my mom must've spent more than $500. As always while on vacation, my dad and I dropped out of the shopping after an hour and left that to my mom and sister. We walked back to the hotel and went to the outside pool. After 30 minutes of being at the pool my dad fell asleep poolside. While sleeping, he got more tan (well red) by the minute! When he woke up he immediately said "get me some lotion!"

Day three in Los Angeles was crazy! We went on a Hollywood tour of the homes. My mom was dying to do this! She was dreaming of what it would be like to live in such a place. We then went on the Hollywood walk of fame and I found some of my favorite stars on the sidewalk outside the theater. My sister and I raced around to see who could find each star my parents said. I of course was the fastest and won! After that we took a tour of Warner Bros. Studio. It was interesting to see where some movies are made and some of the old movie sets.

On our last day in Los Angeles we went to a Los Angeles Laker's game. They were playing the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum against Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden. Five of the greatest basketball players of this generation. The Thunder kept scoring like their lives depended on it. I remember it like yesterday. In the 4th quarter, the score was 110 to 92 in the Thunder's favor. At the start of the quarter, Kobe came out and made his first 3 point shot of the game. I remember thinking that they might come back and win it. After the 3 point shot Kobe stole the ball and passed in to Andrew Bynum and then he did a windmill slam dunk. After five minutes the score was 115 to 105. The Lakers were within ten points and still had time to come back. When there was 20 seconds left in the game, the Thunder were stalling to take time off the clock. The Thunder were ahead by 2 points and then Kobe steals the ball! With 1.5 seconds left in the game Kobe shoots a 3 point shot. "3,2,1 shouts the crowd..." The buzzer buzzes and SWISH! He made it!! The final score was 132 to 133. The Lakers won the game. There is nothing better than the sounds and excitement of an NBA Basketball game. I can definitely see why it is one of the most successful teams in the NBA.

There are many similarities between Kansas City and Los Angeles. One for example is that Kansas City and Los Angeles both have sports teams. Kansas City has the Royals and Chiefs and they aren't very good. However, Los Angeles has the Dodgers, Angels, Lakers, and the Clippers. All the teams that play in Los Angeles are good at their sport. Kansas City is known for Barbecue unlike Los Angeles that is known for it movies. Los Angeles and Kansas City are similar by the way that they all have tourist attractions for tourists that come into Kansas City and Los Angeles.

 1) This journey has effected my life in a big way. Because of this journey I have become a more well rounded person and I have seen the world. Before this trip I saw the Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel Mexico , Alaska, Victoria Canada, Hawaii, and now Los Angeles California. 2) If I had to choose which Journey has changed me I would have to say Alaska. When on the cruise I saw more beauty than I will ever see in my lifetime. Alaska was the most beautiful place I will ever see. Another trip that changed me was going to Hawaii because when we went to Pearl Harbor, I realized that I am so lucky to have everything that I have.

Los Angeles is a terrific town. It has so many wonderful attractions. Maybe someday I'll come back to tensile town and be the next Adam Sandler. Who knows, maybe I'll get a star on the Walk Of Fame. But, don't worry. I'll always remember my teachers when I'm rich and famous.
