S: New Orleans Feb. 2012

FC: Mardi Gras 2012

1: Mardi Gras Baby! | We arrived Friday, Feb. 10, and found our penthouse in the French Quarter. We stayed at the Quarter House. | Mark and Diane joined us, we put on some beads, headed for Bourbon Street, then dinner at Deanies.

3: We walked through Bourbon street and caught a few beads, then went to Le Bayou for drinks. | Here we are on Bourbon Street!!!

4: The Crazy Lobster

5: Saturday, 2/11, we gambled in the morning, then had lunch at the Crazy Lobster. Excellent food, right along the Riverwalk. They had a band, and then a magician came and performed for us. So fun!

6: NEW ORLEANS | Parades, Floats, the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, We saw it all!

8: Airboat Adventures Swamp Tour Feb. 12 2012 | We drove down to the swamp, past Spanish churches, and houses on stilts. | What a great tour!

9: Monday Feb. 12, we all went on the airboat swamp tour through the Bayou! | Our guide! | Alligator~ | Welcome to the Bayou! | Albino alligator | Our guide handed us Budweiser, his own baby alligator | Pictures from our trip.

10: After the swamp tour, we dined at Mulates, had great cajun food, then toured the French Market. Chicory coffee and begnets at Cafe du Monde, then back to our rooms for a night out on Bourbon Street.

11: Dueling Pianos at the Howl at the Moon Bar! They even lit the piano on fire! | Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse. | Catch a few beads!

12: All things grow better with love. | 2/14

13: Valentine's Day, we took a horse and carriage tour of the French Quarter.

15: We saw shotgun houses, the oldest bar in New Orleans, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop,and beautiful architecture.

16: Emeril's | After our tour, Mark, Diane, Tim, Lana, Scott, and I lunched at Emeril's.

17: It's definitely Mardi Gras! Scott got his pic with a cross dresser. | Happy Valentine's Day!

18: Our 40 stop tour of the French Quarter | We started the tour at Hotel Monteleone's Carousel Bar. | 2/15 | The tour guide. | The Didgeridoo!

19: We toured through the French Quarter, saw the dog parade, saw a didgeridoo, learned some history, had lunch, then landed at Pat O'Brien's. We only made 14 of the 40 stops. The Hurricanes did us in!

20: Hand me a Hurricane, before I go insane! | Svetlana bought Tim the King's crown! | Show us your hurricane tongues! | A couple of retired teachers joined our table.

21: Our tour of the French Quarter ended at stop 14, Pat O'Brien's! We sampled the hurricanes, and everyone wanted to join our table! | Pat O'Brien's | Mark and Diane enjoy the afternoon sun. Raye, John, and Theresa joined us for hurricanes!

22: Svetlana and I went to the Museum of Fine Art. Fabulous outdoor sculpture garden. | Feb. 16

23: Lana, Diane, and I went out for a night on the town, while the boys played poker. We walked around, had absinthe, and saw a Romeo pole, spikes so the boys couldn't climb it.

24: Mardi Gras Bourbon Street

26: We did a trolley tour of the city, and also a bus tour. We saw where Katrina had hit, the mighty muddy Mississippi River, and the Garden District. | Touring New Orleans

27: WW11 Museum | Above Ground Cemeteries
