3: There are many type of animals in the marine biome. Most of the animals in the marine biome are sharks, whales, starfish, and many types of fish. In fact the marine biome has more fish than any other place! The marine biome also includes the coral reef! There are many food chains in the marine biome. On top of the food chain is the sharks, whales, and big fish, also the consumer. On the bottom of the food chain is the plankton and the plants, which are the producers.

4: The climate of Earth doesn’t actually affect the climate of the marine biome. The water is warmer near the equator, and cooler near the north and south poles. There are only small changes in the biome since the water does not heat up or cool down quickly. Even though the earth’s climate does not affect the biome, the marine biome does affect the land climate. The winds usually match the water temperature. | The marine biome contains all bodies of water, including all seven oceans. The ocean is divided up into three different layers. The top layer is called the euphotic layer, and a lot of light reaches it since it is the most shallow. The second layer, called the disphotic zone lets only some light in, less than in the euphotic layer. The deepest layer is called the apotic zone, and it is so deep that no light can reach it.

5: There are a lot of different habitats in the marine biome. A tidal pool is water remaining on the shore after high tide. Another habitat is the ocean. Tidal pools and oceans are salt water habitats. Oceans contain upwellings. Upwellings are the rising of deep water up to the surface. | Climate and Geography

7: There are many plants in the Marine Biome. There are seaweed, sea coral, and many more. Sea Plants are very important to the ocean waters. They give off many of the oxygen. Plants are also at the bottom of the underwater food chain. Coral reefs are very important. They are filled with various types of plants. They are a wonderful home for many various types of animals to live, mate, and reproduce.
