S: Maui January 2011
BC: Awesome Memories Can't wait to have another opportunity to sink my toes in the sand on these magnificent Hawaiian Beaches.
FC: Our Hawaiian Experience Aloha!
Paradise on Maui Our Week Long Getaway Thanks to Chad's Conference
After a long, but relaxing flight, we made ourselves quite comfortable at The Grand Wailea Resort & Spa.
 Absolutely Gorgeous
We started the week off with a hike through the rain forest. | We wore special shoes from Japan. Brandi loved them & thought she might be part Japanese. Chad thought she might be part goat. | Chad was even brave enough to take a leap off the cliff by the waterfalls!
There was a neat little veggie & fruit stand that sold coconut candy, coconut chips, and fresh sugar cane juice among other fresh yummies!
More Beauty on the Island as we head towards Lahaina. We were able to stop along the way to spot the Magnificent Humpback Whales frolicking about.
The Banyan Tree One tree covers 2/3 of an acre | While in Lahaina, we enjoyed the BEST Mai Tai's and the most delicious appetizers. We spent the afternoon shopping & exploring.
The Feast at LeLe | It was a beautiful evening full of interesting food dishes and all you could drink "Lava Flows"!
We were taken on a musical journey through the Pacific Island nations of Hawaii, Aotearoa, Tahiti and Samoa.
On the Road to Hana | It was a rather interesting drive. You know it's bad when there are signs saying "Honk First" before you curve around the mountain.
Maui Stables | A cultural experience to learn about ancient Hawaii on Horseback.
Breathtaking Views! | Unable to even begin to capture the true beauty of Maui on film.
We had a wonderful time learning all about Hawaiian history and culture from our guide, Keoni.
The Seven Sacred Pools at Haleakala National Park | Once again, Chad was brave enough to get in the water... "Refreshing"
On the last day, we went to watch the surfers. The north shore offers some of the best waves for catching the Big One!
Another attempt at capturing Maui's views. Everywhere you look... Beautiful.
Overall, our first trip to Maui together was unforgettable. While relaxing and re-connecting, we learned about Hawaii and experienced its culture. We were able to get away from the hussle & bussle of everyday life (and freezing temperatures) to re-charge... and warm up!
Leaving Maui was bittersweet. We're sad to be going, but can't wait to see our babies!
Good Bye, Maui! We hope to be back to visit you again! Mahalo
