S: Spring Break 2011

BC: to nana & Grandpa, thanks so much for the wonderful memories! we had a lot of fun. Love, Brandon & Rachael

 pueblo bonito

Let the journey begin | Trying to Get Tan!

We never had to worry about getting sun burned because nana was always there with the strongest sunscreen, and may i add, she never missed a single spot! ppppppshshshshshshshshshshshshsshsshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshhshhshshshhshshshshshhshshshsshshshshshshshshshshshhshshshshshhshshshshhshshshshshhshshshshshshshshshshshshsshhshshsshshhshshshshshsst! there was no way we were getting tan this trip!

 Our first day in mazatlan!!!

Hair braiding the very first day on the beach vendors bombarded us, the new and white vacationers. our famous words "no gracias" shook off most vendors very quickly, but one hair-braiding dama would not take that for an answer. nana bargained the price down to 24 dollars. so, me being the gullible child, gave in. the dama worked happily on the cornrows while i sat handing her beads, making faces, and trying not to scream. when all was done my head felt like it had a heartbeat and i personally didn't care for my new look. i just couldn't justify taking My new look out that evening as that would be such a waste of money! granpa, then made a deal with me that each day i wore my braids the price would Depreciate by half. i would take out the braids the day i felt that the price was low enough to handle. i kept the braids in for 3 days and on the morning of the 4th day when the price equaled 3 dollars i took the painful hair style out and my head quit throbbing. -rachael

 1st day | 2nd day | 3rd day | memories

 explore, discover, annoy!

targeted iguana as granpa and i headed back to our hotel room after one of my morning runs we spotted an iguana sunning itself atop a cactus. grandpa bent down and picked up some cones from a tree and suggested,"let's throw stuff at it!" This Really caught me off guard but i thought, "shoot, why not?! " we picked up little rocks, cones and sticks and fired away! each time we'd hit him it made a splat! and we'd laugh harder. when the poor iguana finally got too annoyed by us he scurried back into the cactus. it was the end of a great time but it was truly a wonderful memory. -Rachael

Another Day In Paradise | one of the world's highest lighthouses!

 El faro

Eminem | The Boss | Senor frogs

Single and Looking | Hannah Montana

 Laughter is an instant vacation

on our way to stone island

explore | The first thing I saw when we arrived at Stone Island was three amigos holding iguanas and a snake. They were trying to make money by having the tourists hold their pets and take a picture. Well, they weren't having any luck because nobody wanted to hold them. So I said I would hold an iguana...next thing I knew another guy runs over and now I'm holding two iguanas and I smile for the picture...i didnt even notice the snake they put around my neck until i saw the picture. Grandpa didn't have enough money for all of them so he told them to share...ya that wasn't going to happen. -brandon | stone island

 Banana Tree!!!!!

"Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are gone."

life is good at the beach!

Pulmonia | Of course Grandpa wanted to get one of those sweet pulmonia horns for his little sports car. So we were off on the beginning of an adventure we would never forget. Parts stores after autoshops we kept searching downtown Mazatlan where nobody spoke any English. Asking for directions really tested our Spanish speaking skills...and things weren't working out very well. Nobody knew what we were talking about, even after all of our perfect sound effects. Finally after searching every store we only had one left. We had no idea where it was so after what seemed like forever we got a cab who charged us 50 pesos to take us to our destination....right across the street. -brandon

This, right here, is my dream car

A fiesta tHAT WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED

 sunset cruise

 "Mi corazon esta en Mexico"

Long island ice tea on the sunset cruise boat ride the captain took orders for alcholic drinks (which i did not know at the time) "sex on the boat, anyone?" the captain asks. then he asks "Long island Ice tea?" mmm.. ice tea sounds good right now and i raise my hand. the captain counts orders and stops when he sees my hand. "you want a long island?" he asks. "yes" i say a little unsure when i saw that everyone was staring and chuckling at me. "okay" he says. and when he headed to the back of the ship to retrieve the drinks he stops by me and says "we'll bring you something that you're allowed to drink." - Rachael
