FC: By: Krystyna Garcia 5th period | My Trip To South Australia

1: Day 1: -- Leave Houston, Texas on 12/10 at 7:06pm, arrive in Adelaide, SA on 12/11 at 9:35am. (14:30 time difference.) --Arrived at The Oaks Embassy Hotel at 10:50am, slept till 4:30pm. --Reservations at Jolleys Boathouse for 6:35 --Returned back to the hotel at 8:50 and called it a night! | The Oaks Embassy Hotel(top picture) is located in Adelaide, South Australia. It is a 4.5 star rated hotel, and not to mention its position on the Worlds 32 Coolest Hotels! Jolleys Boathouse was a wonderful experience! Loaded with years and years of history and abundant in Australian cuisine! Although the menu was a tad pricey, it was well worth it!

2: Day 2: 12/12 --Wake up call at 9:30am(CST), get ready and eat breakfast all done by 12:00pm --Arrived at the Art Gallery of South Australia at 12:50 --Left the Art Museum at 4:00pm): --After departing the gallery, we headed to Cafe 47 Adelaide, SA for a little bit of Indian Cuisine! Left at 6:00pm. --Once returned back to Oaks Embassy, we relaxed in our luxurious hotel room and watched a movie to end the night! | This is a picture of the fantastic Cafe 47! Even though it is just a hole-in-the-wall kind of restaurant, it was full of tasty food! | The Art Gallery of South Australia was such an amazing experience! With art ranging from the 19th century to present day, there was plenty to see! With all kind of styles of art including watercolors, sculptures, oil paintings and even furniture! So much Australian history for a day's worth of fun!

4: The Aldinga Beach in Adelaide, South Australia is one of many beaches, in Adelaide alone! Aldinga Beach is one of the most popular tourist attractions South Australia has to offer.

5: Day 3: 12/13 --Day 3 was all about catching some sun! after waking up to our last nights' stay in the Oaks Embassy Hotel, we headed to Aldinga Beach in Adelaide, SA. This was a beautiful Beach full of crystal blue waters that were perfect for swimming, scuba diving, sun bathing, sailing, and just your regular beach fun! --After a long day at the beach and grabbing quick snacks here and there, we headed to the Sebel Playford Hotel where we would be staying for the next couple of nights and hit the sack!

6: T he Rundle Mall(pictured above) is an outdoor shopping center in the heart of Adelaide, SA. With multiple stores and many arcades, tourist find Rundle Mall as one of the hottest places to visit when traveling to South Australia.

7: Day 4: 12/14 --After waking up in the beautiful Sebel Playford hotel, it was time to get ready to a full day ahead of us at The Rundle Mall! --Once done with a busy day of shopping, we had dinner arrangements at a small restaurant in downtown Adelaide . --To call an end to such a long, wonderful day was hard, but going back to a warm and cozy hotel, made it a lot easier! | Currency Facts! Australia is one big place, so it isn't hard to figure that they have there own currency. But, did you know that Australian currency isn't far off from US currency? $1.00 USD=.93 AUD $100 USD= $93.08 AUD

8: Day 5: 12/15 --Day 5 consisted of an 8 hour tour on the Murray Riverboat Tour with an included lunch from Adelaide. -- After a long day checking out the peaceful parts of Adelaide, we headed to yes, McDonalds for dinner! Something quick and easy to end a fabulous day! | Although McDonalds started out in California, it has traveled thousand miles away all the way to Adelaide, SA! This is an example of cultural diffusion. | The Murray Riverboat Tour was designed to take you away from the busy streets, and take you to the more peaceful and picturesque small towns that surround the Murray River. This is one of the more tranquil attractions South Australia has to offer.

9: Day 6: 12/16 --After getting ready at 10:00am, we headed out to the all too famous, Kangaroo Island! --Once arriving at Kangaroo Island, we decided to take one of the coolest tours ever: The Kangaroo Island Caving Tour! --After coming back up from an underground cave, we headed to our new hotel for the next couple of nights: The Stamford Grand Adelaide. After such a long and adventurous day, it didn't take too long to fall asleep!

10: The Stamford Hotel's amenities include an outdoor pool, spa, sauna, casino, and even a nightclub. | Day 7: 12/17 --After so many action packed days, enjoying the many attractions Adelaide has to offer, we decided to just have a relaxed day at the beautiful Stamford Grand Adelaide. Marveling at the gorgeous rooms and the spectacular pool, it was indeed a very laid-back kind of day.

11: Day 8: 12/18 --Once awake, it was time to get ready to a full day ahead of us over South Australian history and culture! --After arriving at the Parliament House in Adelaide, SA, we explored the great hall of the historic building. Learning much about South Australia's government. --Concluding the the great tour of the Parliament House, at 5:30 pm we headed out for a fantastic dinner at Rigoni's Bistro. An upscale Italian bistro located in North Adelaide. --After a wonderful Italian dinner, we headed back to the hotel and called it an early night! | SA Government Fact! One thing i learned about the South Australian Government is that it is under a Constitutional monarchy. Which is a monarch that acts as head of state.

12: Day 9: 12/19 --Day 9 was all about learning how to ride the waves! We headed to Moana Beach to take the Ocean Living Surf School! This was an all-day class starting at 8:00am to 4:30pm learning the basics of surfing to the instructors sending you out onto the ocean water to try it out yourself! This was without a doubt the most exhilarating experience of my life! --After such a busy day in and out of the water, we decided for a easy, fast hamburger at Burger It. And as soon as we reached the hotel, it was 'goodnight' for all of us! | The surf school(top picture) is a very famous tourist attraction, many travels from all over come to enjoy the blue waters of South Australia. Burger It(side picture) is widely known for their fantastic burgers. In fact, it is one of the most famous burger placers in all of South Australia.

13: Day 10: 12/20 --On day , after waking up in the beautiful Stamford Grand Adelaide, it was time to do the unthinkable! --After departing the hotel we made our way to the Adelaide Tandem Skydiving building, where we would soon get in a airplane, fly 8,000 feet into the air, and jump out, getting to see Adelaide from a whole different perspective! --After what i would consider to be a near-death experience, my stomach was flipping like no other, so as a precaution, dinner was a bottle of water! Once we got back to the hotel we called it a night, even though it was only 4:30 in the afternoon. But I definitely needed that time to settle my stomach!

14: Day 11: 12/21 --After waking up to a beautiful, sunny day in South Australia, we decided that we would put our newly trained surfing skill to the test! So we headed out to Vivonne Bay for some real waves! --Although the waves were tough, we had an awesome day, soaking up the sun for hours on end! --After an adventure-filled afternoon, we headed to Salt, an modern, laid-back Australian restaurant. | Climate Fact! The climate during the summer in South Australia (December-February) varies from hot, dry, and wet, all depending on the location you are at.

15: Pictured is a group out on the Flinders Ranges and Outback. This outdoor experience is one you cannot miss out on if you travel to South Australia! | Day 12: 12/22 --Once awoken, it was time to pack our gear and head out for a spectacular outdoor adventure! --After we arrive at the Flinders Ranges and Outback, it was quite easy to tell that you were at the heart of South Australia, the true 'Outback'! --For hours we explored the beautiful dry, desert land on a breathtaking tour of Flinders. --Concluding a long day at the outback, we headed to a fantastic pizzeria called the Good Life. An organic pizza had never tasted so good! Afterwords, we headed back to the hotel and took a quick swim in the pool, then calling it a night!

16: Day 13: 12/23 --On our last day in Adelaide, SA we though we would just head out to Black Point to do a little fishing! Black Point is known for the best fishing spots in Adelaide. --Being at Black Point from 10am-6pm was without a doubt tiring, but the experience was incredible! After we were done fishing, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat before heading back to the hotel, because we had an early flight to catch!

17: Day 14: 12/24 --Woke up at 6:00 and left the Stamford Grand Adelaide at 7:15am 12/24 --At 9:00am we caught our flight back to Houston, Texas arriving 7:30pm on 12/23

18: All-in-all, this trip to South Australia was a blast! Getting to learn about the culture and history of such a beautiful place. Alsoseeing that SA has many styles of cuisine to choose from, just like the US. And you can't forget about the awesome attractions Adelaide had to offer! South Australia is definitely the place to go!
