FC: Life's a Beach! Outer Banks ~ July 2011
We arrived on a Friday to one of the most beautiful neighborhoods on the banks. With the world's best bagels and a grocery store right next door, there was not a single thing left to want. Except for maybe a private beach... oh, wait. We had one of those too. Heaven... | Buck Island Corrolla, NC July 22-29, 2011
Family & Friends in the OBX | There are the people you call your family and there are the people you call your friends. And then there are those special people who blur the lines and can only be described as both. | Steve
At Water's Edge... It's the first thing you want to do when you get to the beach - run to the water's edge and get your toes wet. There is just something so special about dipping your toes in the water as the waves come rolling in over your feet.
Boogie Fever Caution: Catching waves may cause a sudden spike in one's mood. Possible side effects: water in the nose and eyes and lots ofsmiles.
 Fun With Sand
"Hot Steve" was not just all ivy league good looks, tight abs and tan skin. He could also paddleboard like a pro. Not to be outdone, we all gave it a try too! With the tide out that morning, we could launch from the sandbar and get past the waves to smooth water. After a couple sliced toes, wipeouts and screams for "HELP!" that no one could hear, we were having a blast trying to figure it out and by the end of the day, we looked like we knew what we were doing!
Tide | when the | comes in
Parents Nights Out | Thanks to our amazing babysitter, Jamie, we got two wonderful and much-deserved...
Relax | Whether we were by the | water or hanging at the house, we found plenty of time to just chill, let the stress of life melt away and enjoy the break from the everyday.
Wild | Horses | The northern shores of the Currituck Outer Banks are famous for the wild horses that have roamed free on the beaches for hundreds of years. They are truly | representative of the Outer Banks spirit - untamed and rugged. Nowhere else can you see wild Mustangs walking along the beach and grazing among beach homes.
Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Historic Whalehead Club
