S: Andrew and Joy's Honeymoon Cruise 2009

BC: St Maarten, BWI | Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos | Princess Cays, Bahamas | St Thomas US Virgin Island

FC: Eastern Caribbean Cruise October 2009

Joy & Andrew married in 2005 but couldn't yet afford a honeymoon. Four years later, the dream was realized... | You want this all in two suitcases?!

Our First Day On Board the Emerald Princess | Learning what a muster station was... and we're not talking condiments here folks.

Pushing out of Ft. Lauderdale's Port Everglades, we saw the Coast Guard for the first time.

Our Itinerary October 18th - Leave Ft. Lauderdale October 19th - Day at Princess Cays, Bahamas October 20th - Day at Sea October 21st - Day in St. Maarten October 22nd - Day in St. Thomas U.S.V.I October 23rd - Day in Grand Turk October 24th - Day at Sea October 25th - Arrive in Ft. Lauderdale

We had been traveling since 2 a.m. Hence, we don't look all that well rested but enthusiastic none the less.

At this point, I would typically tell the story of all the exciting things we did and saw on our first day on board the ship. We got on board shortly after noon and found our room to be pleasant and cozy. Soon after, we made our way to the big welcoming party and had our first fruity rum drinks! As we basked in the rum, music, and atmosphere, our ship departed Ft. Lauderdale and almost immediately thereafter I began feeling quite motion sick. After making our way back to the room and showering (and sobering), we went to the dining room for dinner. However, standing in line with the ship pitching to and fro was enough and we went back to the room for the night to order room service and medicate. Needless to say, we turned in early! What a bunch of party animals!

This is us in the mirror the next morning getting ready to get off the boat... look how thrilled I am! Dry land!

 Princess Cays, Bahamas

 Welcome to Paradise

We spent the day in the Bahamas drinking overpriced fruity cocktails delivered to us on the beach and checking out the beach-side market. We floated in the ocean on a beautifully overcast day and marveled at the white sand - our first experience in the ocean together! | Princess Cays, Bahamas

Feet in the sand, cold drink in hand, our day was anything but bland!

Please don't make me get back on the boat...

 Going Dancing

It doesn't matter where you go in life, what you do ..... it's who you have beside you.

The Cruising Faces of Joy | Kiss Me! | Sea Sick | De-caf Next Time | Going For Cute

{ | { | LOVE | St. Maarten | We started the day on a tour bus which broke down on the french side of the island, so we hailed a taxi and got back to the cruise shopping port fast as our plump tourist rumps could take us! We found the store that sells Tacori and we left having purchased Momma a gorgeous diamond wedding ring!

 Our Captain & Champagne Waterfall

Honeymoon Beach Our First Day of Sailing and Snorkeling St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Island

On board our rum boat "Bones" with fearless leaders Mango, Jason, & the Cap'n

St. Thomas, USVI remains our favorite place of the trip. These are the things we saw before we got on board our pirate ship!

Honeymoon Beach St. Thomas, USVI | One love, one heart. Lets get together and feel alright.

St. Thomas U.S.V.I. | For two bums from the midwest whom had little previous exposure to the wonders of the ocean, snorkeling was the most interesting and exciting experience of the trip! We booked a similar tour for the following day in Grand Turk!

After having enjoyed a little too much sun and likely a little too much rum punch.

I love you, not for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. | Grand Turk

A double rainbow our last evening on the boat. So happy in love and glad to have finally consummated our marriage!

We originally had booked a tour to swim with the sting rays but after much consideration, we chickened and took a snorkel tour out on a big catamaran where the music was loud, the rum punch strong, and the scenery was to die for. We pulled up on Governor's Beach for our last hour in the sand. | Grand Turk

This was our last view of the tropical Caribbean while on shore. I snapped this photo while walking on the dock to get back on our cruise ship. Grand Turk near sunset was one of the most breath-taking sites that graced us during our 7 day journey and we were very sad to know this concluded the island portion of our trip. | We spent some time on Governor's Beach while in Grand Turk frolicking in the ocean like children and collecting shells. The sand was fine as flour and the water crystal clear. We vowed to return to the Caribbean soon as we said g'bye to the gorgeous oasis that had been ours for the a most womderful week.
