FC: England | Italy | Paris | Our Honeymoon 2010

1: January 1st, 2010 We went to England for two weeks to visit family and friends

2: Birmingham England It was snowing most of the time and around -10 degrees

4: Jones Family You can always find them in a pub

5: Allen Family Paul and Jacquie took Richard to a curry house for his birthday

6: We went to Devon for a couple of days to visit Dan & his family

13: The Mouth of Truth It was thought that a liar would loose his hands if he placed them in the mouth of the Bocca del Verita. Thought to be an ancient Roman ornamental drain cover, the disk certainly provides plenty of amusement and maybe just a shiver as you take the test.

20: In the ancient world, the elliptical-shaped Colosseum, taking ten years to build, was the largest structure of its type. It stood 160 feet high with four stories of windows, arches, and columns. Each of the three exterior floors consisted of 80 arches. As many as 50,000 spectators with numbered tickets entered through 76 of the entrances on the ground level. Two of the remaining entrances were used by Emperor Titus and two for the gladiators. | Colosseum

33: The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition in 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution in 1789. The structure took more than two years to complete. Each one of the about 12,000 iron pieces were designed separately to give them exactly the shape needed. All pieces were prefabricated and fit together using approx. 7 million nails. | Eiffel Tower

34: Originally a royal palace, the Louvre became a public museum at the end of the 18th century. It is located in the 1st arrondissement, at the heart of Paris. | Louvre Museum | There are about 35.000 objects on display, spread out over three wings of the former palace. The museum has a diverse collection ranging from the antiquity up to the mid 19th century. A large part of the collection consists of European paintings and sculptures. Other rooms contain Roman, Egyptian, Greek and Oriental art. There is also a section with 'Objects d'Art', where objects such as clocks, furniture, china and tapestries are displayed.
