9: Peterhof Palace Grounds: No electricity was used in any of the fountains. They are all gravity fed.

14: The ceiling looked like very intricate three dimensional sculptures, but it was flat wall-paper. Very unique! There were several examples of this art form throughout the palace.

22: Around St. Petersburg, Russia | We ate lunch at a local Russian Restaurant, when I inquired as to what we were eating I was told Beef Stroganoff. It was invented in Russia. Who knew?

30: Hermitage Museum: (Winter Palace of the Czars.) Second largest art museum in the world.
32: Chandeliers of the Winter Palace:They were all real Crystal, gold and jewels.
35: Double headed eagle was the emblem of the Russian Czars.

39: The beauty was overwhelming! Too much to absorb, and the pictures do not do it justice!

41: The communist military influence was very evident. Quite a sight to see up close after so many years of separation.

46: This was one of the most beautiful buildings that we experienced during our time in St. Petersburg.
49: The Cathedral was built over this spot commemorating the death of a Russian leader. While he was standing for the rights of the people, the people were misled into a riot and he was killed on the streets of St. Petersburg.
