FC: My 2012 Summer Vacation...
1: ...was History, Wild Ponies, Tall Ships, | Music, and Fun!
2: Jamestown – 1607 Susan Constant, Godspeed & Discovery
3: sailed the Atlantic Ocean for four months to bring
4: 107 English men and boys to America's first permanent colony.
5: Powhatan Indians traded and fought with Jamestown colonists. Pocahontas, a Powhatan chief's daughter, saved John Smith's life during the "starving time". Then in 1614 she was baptized, named Rebecca, and married John Rolfe.
6: Williamsburg – 1632 Capital of the Virginia Colony from 1699 to 1780 and the center
7: of political events in Virginia leading to the American Revolution.
8: Yorktown – 1691 The American Revolution ended here when the British surrendered to George Washington.
10: Aboard the schooner Serenity we raised the sails, learned about knots, captained the ship, and shot | a cannon!
14: Assateague Island was beautiful.
16: In the 1600s, a Spanish Galleon sank with a cargo of horses. Some swam to the shores of Assateague where their descendants still run wild.

21: We saw tall ships and modern naval ships from around the world!
