FC: The Great Outdoors | Colorado Springs Camping Vacation July 1st-5th 2011

Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories. CathyAllen | Our 1st view of the beautiful mountains | Our first day in Colorado we spent at the KOA Campground, swimming and getting adjusted to the 7,000 foot altitude | DJ Jerry | The pool water was warm but the air was cold on this Friday night.

Our 1st dinner: Taco Salad | I know our camper looks like a UFO, but those silver blankets keep the camper very cool | We are not used to camping in the dry, sandy brown campgrounds

Happy Hayride every evening, they even met new friends all the way from ...St. Joseph, MO! | Elizabeth's new friend..dead plants

Manitou Cliff Dwellings of the Anasazi Indians Dating back to A.D. 1275 to 1300 | Day 2: Saturday On the road to the Cliff Dwellings

Here we were in a bedroom for 8. | Girls up in the loft rooms

Garden of the Gods A glimpse of the past was found in the Garden in the form of an ancient piece of pottery. Sources reveal that it was probably from a shallow bowl or large vessel, in a style similar to that made in Mesa Verde from 575 to 900 AD. | Can you find the rock climber?

We just couldn't take enough photos of the beautiful scenery

All things grow better with love. | Flying W Ranch | A big hail storm had just passed. Can you see the American Flag in the distance against the blue sky.

Dinner Show Honky Tonk Music | Before dinner we could walk about and see Indian dances, rug weaving and we could have left the girls in jail, but they were hungry for dinner. Dinner consisted of 500+ people going through an all you can eat buffet, the only problem, they limited your eating time. | Flying W Ranch

Royal Gorge Bridge | Royal Gorge Waterway. Can you see the train? | We are on the air tram going over the water. | We are going from one side of the gorge to the other holding on by cables. | Do you see the red speck? That is the air tram we just got off.

There were lots of activities going on. We enjoyed Viper car show, merry-go-round ride, petting zoo and trolley rides over the Bridge

 Seven Falls

Breath taking views. This was my favorite stop. | Made it to the top of the 7th waterfall | 224-step stairway, this time going down

Suited up and ready to hit the rapids...on the Family Float

Our boat load | Our view of the mountains from the river | The day was hot but the water was cold and rushing fast, thanks to a high snow fall that year. | This was what was ahead if we had not got off the river when we did

On the summit of Pikes Peak via Cog Railway

Pikes Peak What amazing views of God's creations from high up. None of us got sick, but it was only a matter of time. The trip took 3.10 hours round trip. We did get to see Bighorn sheep and marmots.

Chillin' in the Shade | Campground Playground | Minute To Win It | Can she stack 6 dice on the end of a popsicle...Yes she can | Can she build an upside down pyramid....Yes she can | Can she move the cookie from her forehead to her mouth...Yes she can

Last view before heading back home.
