FC: Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park has always held a special place in my heart. From taking the train through the park as a young girl, to hiking through it's mountainous peaks as an adult, this place always leaves me breathless and a lasting impression of heaven on earth. On September 3rd 2011 I took a trip with the one and only Jill Jarvis, Tommy Hartman, Larisa Ungerman, Ryan Wimmer, and Camilla Rogers to this beautiful part of the country. Little did we know just how amazing our trip would be.
MONTANA | Lookin' for our Cowboys | Boarding the plane to Missoula, Montana
Both Jill and Ryan are USSA insurance members but in order for them to get the special discount they had to say that they were married. It was quite the honeymoon!
We stopped to buy some cherries from the side of the road and found this old tractor... | The girls couldn't resist a photo-op.
Restaurant by the Lake | Chowin' down on Nachos | On our way up to Kalispell we stopped for a bite to eat. The food was okay, but the views were definitely much better. | Day 1
 Avalanche Lake
 Day 2
Logan Pass shares some of my favorite childhood memories. The mountains are amazing, I love this creek and the goats always roaming.
Jill and Tom were slightly obsessed with their boots. They recommitted to wearing them more often. | I love these red buses that drive around the park. And the carvings in the side of the mountain are amazing.
True Cowgirl | The vest says it all | Jill and Larisa | The camera loves her folks...
Hiking at Logan Pass got a little chillier than expected... | Ryan tried to keep warm. Jill had to help him out...
Every view spectacular | Especially this one | Glacier?
We stayed at Stanton Creek Lodge, fondly known as "Jerry's Place" during our trip. Jerry was awesome and super excited to have us there. We became fast friends...
 Running Eagle Falls
After our little jaunt to Running Eagle falls we ventured on up to Many Glacier where we hiked the Swiftcurrent pass. It was a beautiful day, and an amazing hike. We hiked to Redrock lake where we had lunch at the falls, then continued on to Bullhead lake. We heard rumors that there had been some moose spottings, and we just happened to get lucky enough to see some. We also saw bear, dear, and a cheese-it eating chipmunk.
 Redrock Lake
Don't make me go home | Redrock Falls | The views were amazing | These were the views from where we stopped to eat lunch. It was like heaven on earth.
 Bullhead Lake
Guess who else loves cheese-its? | The dear crossing our path | One of the funnest parts of the trip was playing i-pod kareoke. We sang and danced along that trail so our fellow hikers could know what "trouble" were really were. | Even though our original plans to hike Iceburg lake fell through, we still had a great day. We even got to see the moose that Camille had been dying to see...
We had seen a moose in the distance after hiking to the end of Bullhead lake, but it wasn't as close as we'd hoped. On our way back we finally got to see some moose up close and personal. Camille was stoked.
Moose Crossing | Sad face: Iceburg closed | LOOK! MOOSE!
Ipod Kareoke There's your Trouble... | Larisa chose a song to sing, "There's your trouble", which Jill had already picked, not realizing it until she was partway into the song. When she did realize it, we all broke down laughing. HILARIOUS | String Cheese Emergency | Such a Fun trip
Johnson's restaurant was mighty delicious. Best meal of the entire trip. We also go to do some horseback riding and white water rafting which was super fun.
Lake MacDonald | After rafting we decided to take a dip | Me and Tommy | Delicious hot cocoa and huckleberry ice cream
The water was so stinkin' cold I jumped in and quickly got out. Ryan took his sweet time to get in and enjoy the water. | Fun Group I tell ya. I love Camille's face in this picture.
Our last night ended with a Bonfire under the stars. | Larisa stoking the fire. | Awesome souveniers
I got to go on a lot of trips this year, but this one is one of the top favorites. I just can't wait to go back | to this little piece of heaven on earth. Maybe you can come along?? It will be the best decision you've ever made.
