FC: The Trip to Italy Venice Florence Rome September 2010

1: Starting in Venice we crossed the Crystal Bridge, to find the Vaporetto stops, and the magnificence of the Grand Canal. | Venice

2: Far left: The Casino is only accessible by water - either the vaporetto or water taxi. Huge palazzos line the Grand Canal thier size indicating the inportance of the owner. | Bridges over the canals make it possible to gt around the city by foot. Walkways go behind buildings and into piazzas.

4: Piazza San Marco dominates the center of the city. it is a cathedral with five domes, highly ornamented and flanked by the Doge's palace. The Campanile rises high above the square.

5: During our time in Switzerland, we got to experience living at home and running errands, thanks to our host mom. | St. Mark's Cathedral Piazza San Marco

6: Walking the back streets to lunch at Enoteca.

7: Chris and Laura at the most accessible Peggy Guggenheim Museum/

8: Gondola ride with the seranata and musician.

10: Florence

11: The Duomo and Baptisteria

12: Walking through Florence we saw the multi-hued marble cathedral and rubbed the nose of the boar to ensure our return.

15: Views of the Arno River from the Ponte Vecchio.

16: Strolling through the streets of Florence.

17: Ancient arches, the Uffizi Museum, Neptuno and the the view form il Ristorante Ponte Vecchio.

20: The ride to Tuscany - little town and fields.

21: Everybody meets at Fattoria Lavacchio to work in the kitchen preparing lunch. Tira Misu, pasta, staek and garlic spinach! And much wine!!!

22: Ken and Chris get expert cooking instruction from Victoria and Naomi.

33: It's the Coliseum. Everywhere you look, it's the Coliseum!!!

35: Assorted ruins and artifacts

37: Views of the Tivoli Gardens.

38: The Caracella Baths

39: ...and the ledgend is, "If you go to the Trevi Fountain and throw in your coins, you are promised to return to Rome. We'll be back.
