S: Tobago Mission Trip
BC: It was a wonderful and life changing experience. Finding enjoyment and praising God in varied places - even when stranded at a bus stop miles from our home.
FC: Tobago | Mission Trip 2006
Halifax Airport | Trinidad Airport - we made it all in one piece | Sunrise from the airplane
The first night we walked to a local church and led a youth group service | Enjoyed some singing and games and a few gave some testimony
Later that night we went out for some real Italian Gelato - YUM! | The next day we went to the Jesus Cares Orphanage to just spend some time with the kids and give them some love
The kids all wanted to have shoulder or piggy back rides. We played outside with them and gave lots of hugs and cuddles
Lindsay and Myra got their hair done in cornrows. Lasted the whole trip.
The whole gang from our day at the beach. | Tuckered out little boy
Attended church in a big tent. Participated by leading a few songs and did a skit.
Some down time and fun with the team.
Went to two different elementary schools and shared some praise and worship songs as well as some skits and testimonies with the kids there. The kids were all excited to see us and the school officials were very welcoming of our group
Some of the best ministry was when we were just hanging out with the "locals". Letting them play music with us or an impromptu basketball game. at night
Clean up day at the Orphanage. It was completely disgusting and yet it was so appreciated by the workers it was one of the highlights of the mission
We ran 3 afternoon day camp programs filled with singing, skits, games and other activities | We always had a special treat for them to take home and one of the biggest hits was the toothbrushes.
Filling up water balloons for the biggest water fight I've seen
Old Battle Fort Fort James. Got a chance to explore it during some downtime.
Spent some time at one of the high schools. This was apparently one with the more difficult youths but we were amazed at the positive and engaging behaviour. | Alex was extremely popular with all the girls
Back to the orphanage one last time to give the kids each a hand knit Teddy Bear made by many women in our church congregation
Some of the kids drew pictures for us
Silly Rabbit - Trix are for kids | The girls made Thomas a stud muffin | Local goats in the neighborhood
Beautiful view from our house we rented for the week. Enjoying and basking in God's Creation
Took a glass bottom boat tour. Fabulous experience and a great way to end a wonderful trip. Visited the Nylon Pool to experience it's fountain of youth properties. Some of us needed that more than others.
A final night out to celebrate a successful Mission
