Day 3 July 20, 2012 | Auckland Museum John took a picture with Sir Edmund Hillary's Mt. Everest Ice Axe | Maori boat and replica of the chief's house. | Mt. Eden

Auckland, New Zealand What a beautiful city with so much to offer. We are having such a great time can't believe we leave for Sydney in just a few short hours Day 4 July 21, 2012

Day 5 July 22, 2012 Manly Beach and Faifax Point. Cold and Windy but breathtakingly beautiful

Day 6 July 23, 2012 | Sydney Aquarium and Japanese Rose Gardens

Day 7 July 24, 2012 Our Night at the Sydney Opera House We woke to a rain storm for the ages, but as the evening approached the clouds cleared and the stars filled the sky just in time for us to make our way to the show. We have tickets for Bangarra's performance of Terrain. The show explores, through dance, the relationship of the indigenous people to the country and how landscape becomes a second skin. The show was beyond words, probably one of the best shows either of us has ever seen.

Day 8 July 25, 2012 | Taronga Zoo and Blue Mountains

Day 9 7-26-2012 These pictures were taken at the Pioneer Hotel/Hostel.Directly behind our room was a sandy path that led to this outlook of Ayers Rock & The Olgas

Day 10 July 27, 2012 We had not yet decided if we were going to climb up Ayers Rock or not due to the spiritual significance to the Anagu people. High winds at the summit closed the climb and made our decision for us. It ended up being the better choice, because the base walk was 10.6K of magnificent beauty. The sheer size and scale can't be captured on camera, its just one of those things you have to experience for your self to fully understand

Day 11 July 28, 2012 | John rode Diesel, Melissa Rode Schnickelfritz

They say that the rock changes color throughout the day so we decided to see for ourselves.. These were all taken from the same spot from sunrise to sunset. Kind of neat.

Day 12 7-29-12 Cairns, Australia Lazy day at the lagoon

Day 13 7-30-12 We took a drive to the Table Lands. Stopped at Eubenangee Swamp, Babinda Boulders, Mila Mila Falls just to name a few. Had a great day exploring the rain forest

Day 14 July 31, 2012 Port Douglas & Daintree River. Just North of Cairns is Port Douglas. When John was here about 17 yrs ago he thought one day when he got married it would be here at St. Mary's by the sea. After a lovely afternoon in Port Douglas we headed further North to do a crocodile tour on the Daintree River.

Be Cass-o-wary | Day 15 August 1, 2012 Cape Tribulation We took the ferry across the Croc infested Daintree River and drove until the pavement ran out. Then turned around and made our way back stopping at every boardwalk to explore the rain forest.

Day 16 August 2, 2012 Cairns, AU Up and out early today. We have to return the rental car by 9am, and we are about an hour and a half from Cairns. On the drive back we realize that we have not booked a hostel for our last three nights!!! After a mad dash down the esplanade we find a room for tonight, and later we find one for our last two. John and I are both exhausted from all of our travels and decide to relax at the lagoon for a few hours until our room is ready to check into. We only have two days left and we have yet to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef. Our first choice is all booked up for tomorrow but our second choice is open. John says why not do both in the next two day. Who knows when we will be here again. Two days on the reef what a dream come true.
