FC: New Zealand and Australia 2008


2: Cruise of Sydney Harbor

3: Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge

4: More of Sydney | On the harbor cruise this area was pointed out as the area where all of the celebrities of Sydney reside.

5: This was our first beer down under on the boardwalk at Sydney's most famous beach. | BONDI BEACH

6: Melbourne was our second port stop. My favorite city in Australia. The locals pronounce it Melban.

7: We hired a local to take us on a tour. This was a little town outside the city on the way to the wine country. | One of many places I took of picture of that I don't know what it is.

8: Emu-Australia's ostrich. | The only koala I saw in Australia. | Feeding a baby roo at the wildlife preserve. | """" | l;kf; | The Dingo ate my baby.

9: Wine tasting outside of Melbourne. | The wine country reminded me of Northern California

10: Aborigine art in a museum in the city center of Melbourne.

11: On the next day we stopped in Tasmania. This is overlooking the city at it's highest point.

12: We took a hike through a tropical rain forest which was beautiful and lush with the most wildlife we saw.

13: This picture was taken standing in a tree trunk. The ferns were huge standing 20 feet tall.

15: Tasmania had a beautiful countryside with great wine and very friendly people. The architecture was uniques with lots of bright colors.

16: t | The next day we woke up early to see the sunrise in the fjordlands which we sailed through leaving Australia and heading to New Zealand.

17: As the sun came up everything became more lush and green, We spent 3 days at sea making the trek from Australia to New Zealand.

19: Our first stop in New Zealand was in Dunedin on the South Island. We walked the city then boarded an old railroad to see the countryside.

20: This railway was very old and went over many trellises deep into the countryside. There were many gorges and lots of sheep.

22: This is the steepest street in the entire world. It does not look that bad, but was terrifying to drive down | The next day we landed in Christchurch.

23: Chris CH | Christchurch was my favorite town in New Zealand. It had a very European feel to it and lots of culture.

25: We got a kick out of the sign posted outside of this bar and below was a headline in that day's newspaper. | We spent most the day walking and exploring. The area to the left had many art museums and English pubs.


27: After Christchurch we headed to Wellington, Tauranga and Rotorua. We sailed passed the active White Island Volcano

28: Wellington is the capital of New Zealand. The countryside was very beautiful and near here is where the Lord of the Rings was filmed.

29: The actual city of Wellington was very urban and modern. The cable car below and beehive building were two of the main attractions.

30: In Tauranga we visited a Kiwi farm. They also grew Hops which are the crops shown above.

31: At a Polynesian Settlement. We spent most of the day here.

32: In Rotorua there were also many natural hot springs. In New Zealand this area is a big vacation spot due to the hot springs.

33: Our last day was spent in Auckland where we boarded our flight back to America. Auckland was beautiful with a lot of sailing and fishing.
