FC: Alex's Graduation Trip With Nana, Papa and Mom

1: Waiting for our connecting flight to Milan | Traveling is EXHAUSTING!! | Schiphol Airport

2: Genoa, Italy (Some harrowing driving, but we made it!!)

5: Beginning our trek along the Via Dell Amore' in Rio Maggiore. Part of the Cinque Terre on the Western Coast of Italy

6: Vernazza El Cinque Terre | Vernazza

7: Typical Alex.....after moments of searching he came up with a baby urchin. | Thought of as the 'jewel' of the Cinque Terre, this town was worth the walk. Nestled at the mouth of a bay, it charmed us thoroughly!

8: The morning of embarkation afforded us some time to wander and explore the city of Genoa, Italy. Some sights were a great deal MORE MEMORABLE than others!! (MOOP!) Mary had her first Italian Cappucino that day...ah! | Morning of Embarkation!!!

11: The first stop on our cruise was Marseille, France. We found the city to be quite dirty and uninteresting. The highlight of our day was our excursion to Aux En Provence | A marketplace feature fruits, vegetables and handmade goods. Here, Alex bought an apple...I bought Lavendar Soap | Aux En Provence, France

12: Is Columbus telling us to go home?? | A boy and a buoy. | Touring La Rambla, La Sagrada Familia and the many sites of Barcelona | Barcelona, Spain

13: Hey Columbus...which way to the girls?

14: And then Alex discovers....the cruise ship night life!!

15: Beloved Nana and Papa aboard the Fantasia MSC

16: Valetta, Malta

17: It was as though the island of Malta rose from limestone right out of the sea. It was the Fantasia's maiden voyage to the island and we were greeted with a band, soldiers, etc.

19: Our day at Malta continued with a tour of neolithic ruins and the port of Marsaxloxx. Every corner of Malta was more interesting than the next. | A delightful afternoon cup of Cappucino in Marsaxloxx

20: Mary & Alex | Messina, Sicily | Papa

21: Mt. Etna was SPECTACULAR. An active volcano that lies on the plain of Catania, Etna had erupted only 10 days prior to our visit. After a lengthy bus ride through Sicily, we explored, hiked and enjoyed the amazing scenery!

22: Mary & Alex | Stromboli | I can see it!!! | One amazing volcano just ISN'T enough!! On our way to Civitavecchia, we passed Stromboli...another active volcano.

23: Caesar the day??! | Rome, Italy Our first stop in Rome was the Colosseum

24: Strolling around the Forum | An amazing site....the place Caesar's body was laid after being assassinated by the senate.

25: Trevi Fountain...making a wish to return again!!! | Vatican City....St. Peter's Square

26: Papa and his 30 seconds of fame.

27: The bus from Civitavecchia dropped us off just outside of the Vatican...on Good Friday of all days!! The place was filled with people. | Vatican City

29: Arrivederci!
