 DEPARTED | AUSTRALIA | JULY 2011
I can't believe it!! I am finally going to a place I have dreamed of ever since I was a child...a place where kangaroos roam, where I will get to hold the cutest sleepy bears in the world and a place where the ocean is full of amazing world renowned reefs and sea life. Australia Here I Come! | Sydney | July 2011
 Sydney Opera House
We spent one full day with Blue Mountain Tours. We started with scones and tea. We went to a waterfall and a look out to the Blue Moutains. We spent time in the town of Laura and had an amazing time at the Featherdale Wildlife park where I first had the chance to pet a Koala :) The day ended with a boat ride back to Sydney.
Harbour Bridge Climb at night THis was one of my favorite experiences of the trip. We suited up and hiked half way up, across the center and then back down the other side.
Next stop Cairnes. We stayed at a beautiful resort that was a little further out of town than we expected.. In Cairnes I: relaxed, snorkled in the Great Barrier Reef on a stormy day, got horribly sea sick, toured through the rainforest . Then when everyone else left I went on a rafting adventure that practically took my life!
Meet Wally, the largest fish, I ran into in the Great Barrier Reef
Tour Day! After our adventure at the Great Barrier Reef we headed out on our day long land tour. Still feeling a bit queasy from the boat ride, we boarded the Kuranda Railway. Which took us on a beautiful ride, stopping at a gorgeous waterfall. Next stop...
Where we had lunch, took a DUCK tour, learned about the aboriginal people, tried throwing a boomerang and saw kangaroo, crocodiles and I held a koala.!Next stop...
The final part of the tour was a very long rainy gondola ride over the top of the rainforest. It was a scary ride but it was amazing to look down through the canopy of trees!
My Final Adventure In Cairnes I had one day to myself at the end of the trip so I decided to do a half day rafting trip. Little did I know what an adventure it would be. I assumed that when they said we could get out and ride the rapids that it would be safe...um...well, let's just say I've never been under water that long in my life!
On my final day, I took a flight from Cairnes to Sydney where I had an 8 hour layover. So, I boarded the train to Circular Quay to have one more look at the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. I had a wonderful treat from a coffee house and soaked it all in
