S: Cruisin' in Mexico 2011
BC: This book was created to share the moments from our Caribbean Cruise that Randall and Gina enjoyed with Dana and Autumn Stringam and mom and dad Stringam in celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary!
FC: Miami, Costa Maya, Belize, Cozumel, Progreso April 17-23, 2011
This is the view of Miami, FL from the Miami Port. Cruise ships were lining up getting ready to set sail | This was the view of Miami from our ship.
We had the whole day before we set sail to discover Miami. Our favorite spot was the port and all the
fun shops that lined the port. We found a nice little sit down resturant to watch the setting sun.
This is the main sign before entering the cruise ship port! We were so excited to be this close to getting on our boat! The excitement was building!
We watched as they prepared our ship. Lots of window washing and exchange of food and bedding material. | They manage to get all of this ready in just a short 3-4 hours. Unbelievable!
Before we could enjoy ourselves too much we had to go over all of the safety rules and regulations. I promised Keaton that this would not be another "Titanic" story. He was glad to see all the lifeboats attached to the side of the ship! So were we! There were over 3,000 persons on board with a crew number of 1,058. We found out they stay on the ship for 6 long months!
BEST FRIENDS sharing a wonderful vacation together. (Where is Dana and Autumn?)
Our first evening on the ship was very relaxing! We sat around, enjoyed our meal and of course, Randall had to find out if the bed was going to be comfy enough for him,! | This was a fun time to spend with Grandma and Grandpa. The whole reason for our trip together was to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary!
 One of Chocchoben's great temples!
First stop: Chocchoben A one hour bus ride out of Costa Maya, Mexico | Helaman our guide
Hot and humid but beautiful! | Do we look like a bunch of tourists or what? | Helaman, our guide was so good at describing all the details of the lamanite people and their culture
Hungry for some authentic Mexican Food? Yummy. | Jumping off the roof of the restaurant to the nice minerals waters of a Cenote.
The water was a beautiful aqua color. | This Cenote is 250 feet deep. | A Cenote is caused from a limestone sinkhole.
Off the coast of Costa Maya
The second night on our cruise was the Captain's Dinner. We all dressed up in our Sunday best and really enjoyed each other's company and of course, the good food!
Hanging out playing cards!! Check it out..............Randall is playing cards!! | What have you got there Dana?
Cute bunny! Every night our room service guy would make us some kind of cute animal to put on our bed.... They were each made of towels
Preparing for another long bus ride and day full of adventure!
Belize We boarded a ferry and and crossed the reef to the mainland. From there we went by bus and another fast boat up the river to Lamoni. We climbed a look out structure dated back to 100 BC. Very exciting! It was very jungle like.. Dr. Lund suggests this may be the place where the strippling warriors may have lived. This is believed to have possibly been the city of Gid in the land of Jershon.
Getting off the ship in Cozumel, Mexico and getting ready to get on another boat ride to the mainland and then another one hour bus ride and then...to Tulum!! | Tulum
Tulum!!! So beautiful! One of our favorite sites. The Mayan people build this city on a cliff by the ocean. Our guide, Helaman explained their rituals from ancient history. Many of the temples were build after the example of Solomom's Temple.
Tulum | Looking at the main temple in Tulum. It was very interesting to learn about the different entryways and how that relates to the different degrees of glory. So much history!
Blessings from above | Representing Christ's descent from heaven | Back side or temple acted as a light house | Iguana | The city was fortified by as described by Captain Moroni in the Book of Mormon.
 Beautiful waters of the Caribbean
Enjoying the same view as what the Book of Mormon people would have experienced.
Another Day In Paradise | Still lookin' good after 50 years of marriage!
 Modern day Nephite warriors
"Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are gone."
Progreso, Mexico Our last stop on the beautiful Yucatan Penninsula
OUR LAST NIGHT! | Death by chocolate on the last night!
The best part of the trip was playing "Rook" on the last night....and Randall loved it!
WE are still the queen in his castle! | Check out those legs!
"Mi corazon esta en Mexico" (My heart is in Mexico)
