UFC 131 was the first live UFC event we attended even though we've been watching since UFC 62. | It was very exciting to be in the crowd and to see the cage in person!
We spent Sunday exploring Vancouver and visiting some of the popular spots in the city. | We took a boat to the Granville Island Public Market which was a lot of fun to walk around. It included a farmer's market and many small shops to check out.
There were many sculptures and statues around the city. The guy on the right was being bad so I had to spank him! | View of Vancouver from Granville Island
As part of our sightseeing in Vancouver we took a horse drawn carriage ride around Stanley Park. The park is named after Lord Stanley and was officially opened in 1888. The park includes the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, a 13.7 mile seawall for walking and jogging, as well as many monuments and statues. The park also has great views of downtown Vancouver!
View of West Vancouver from downtown | Pixel Orca outside of the Vancouver Convention Center | The Olympic cauldron from the 2010 Winter Olympics | Seaplane docked in the Vancouver Harbour
On Sunday afternoon we walked around Gastown which is the oldest neighborhood in Vancouver. The big attraction is a steam powered clock which releases it's steam and sounds whistles to mark each hour.
After Gastown we walked to Chinatown which is home to the world's narrowest building, the Sam Kee Building. The width of the building is denoted by the green paint and measures 4'11". | We finished Sunday by having dinner like celebrities at India Bistro. The cast of Twilight ate here many times when they were in town to film the movie. It was delicious!
On Monday we drove from Vancouver to Whistler. The drive up to Whistler was one of the most beautiful drives because half of it was along the water.
The first thing we did in Whistler was take the Peak 2 Peak gondola from Whistler Mountain to Blackcomb Mountain. This gondola is the highest of its kind and is the longest continuous lift system in the world.
After the gondola ride we walked around Whistler Village and played golf at Whistler Golf Club.

The 2015 U.S. Open will be held at Chambers Bay, everyone at the course was very excited to have it selected for such a big tournament.
The course does not allow golf carts and with all of the hills walking 18 holes is the equivalent of an 8 mile walk!
