FC: Barcelona to Galveston

1: On the street where we lived for 3 nights and the surrounding neighborhood known as L'Example. | BARCELONA

4: La Sagrada Familia cathedral was designed by Gaudi and during our time in Barcelona was consecrated by Pope Benedict.

5: Las Ramblas, the famous street where locals and tourists stroll in the evenings, mimes are posing for euros and shops and cafes are everywhere. When I dropped a coin in the "angel's" cup, she uncovered her face and smiled.

6: We strolled Las Ramblas street and walked to the Christopher Columbus Monument at the end by the seaport.

10: Park Guell, designed by Antoni Gaudi and built in the years 1900 to 1914, is a garden complex on Carmel Hill with fabulous views of the city.

17: The Black Madonna was discovered by shepherds in the Montserrat mountain when they were drawn to the cave by heavenly music and bright light. She is the patron saint of Barcelona. She was carved by St. Luke around 50 AD and brought to Spain and hidden by the Moors.

29: Rode the wicker "toboggan" down a curvy, steep hill through the streets of this small town. Two toboggan runners push and guide it, and we laughed all the way!

31: Our guide took us to a lookout where we had lunch and a pitcher of sangria. The owner made everything while we waited and it was the best sangria and delicious food!

34: La Palma is a beautiful volcanic ocean island, one of seven of the Canary Island archipelago. | La Palma, Canary Island

35: Another full day of touring a beautiful island, from the beaches to the volcanic mountain.


38: Nassau, Bahamas

44: We sailed across the Atlantic Ocean from Barcelona, Spain to Galveston, Texas on the Royal Caribbean "Voyager Of The Seas" cruise ship. Beautiful ship with over 3,000 passengers. Sunny days and starry nights made for a relaxing time on our stateroom balcony.

46: Rock climbing wall, miniature golf, basketball court and roller blade course.

48: You are never hungry on a cruise ship! Good food all the time, day and night.
