1: Population: 12,084,304 as of July 2011

2: *The different ethnic groups consist of 98% African, (which is 82% Shona, 14% Ndebele, and others are 2%.) mixed Asian is 1%, and white population is less than 1%. *The people of Zimbabwe speak English as their official language. They also speak Shona, and Sindebele. (Sindebele is the language of Ndebele sometimes they call Sindebele Ndebele.) They also speak various tribal dialects. | The People

3: *About 50% of the people are Syncretic. This means that they are part indigenous and part Christian. 25% is Christian. 24% is indigenous. 1% is Muslim and other religions. *About 90% of the population are literate. They can read and write English.

4: *The capitol city is Harare. *Zimbabwe is located in between South Africa, and Zambia. *The area is 390,757 square kilometers. This is slightly larger than Montana. *Zimbabwe is landlocked. *Its climate is tropical; moderated by altitude. Its rainy season is from November to March. *There are mostly high plateaus with higher central plateau. There are mountains in the East. *Natural recourses include coal, chromium ore, asbestos, gold, nickel, copper, iron ore, vanadinm, lithium, tin, and platinum group metals.

5: Geography | *A natural hazard is recurring droughts. Floods and sever storms are rare. (Since Zimbabwe is completely landlocked.) *Vitoria Falls is one of the largest waterfalls in the world. Victoria Falls is located on the Zambezi River.

6: ~ Government ~ | Independencewas won from the UK on: | April 18, 1980 | Their former name was Southern Rhodesia | Long name: Republic of ZImbabwe | They are a Parliamentary Democracy | Their president is Robert Gabriel Mugabe. (Since December 31, 1987)

7: Current Events: | Their national anthem was adapted in 1994. Its name is: "Kalibusiswe llizwe leZimbawe". | In the environment there is deforestation, soil erotion, land degradation, air and water pollution, black rhinoceros have been reduced in numbers because of poaching, poor mining practices lead to toxic waste, and heavy metal pollution.
