BC: I Love to See the Temple I'm Going There Someday
FC: MY BAPTISM
Caden Ryan Ricks May 12, 2012
Before we came to earth, we lived as spirits with our Heavenly Parents and our spirit brothers and sisters in our beautiful heavenly home. Because our Heavenly Father loves us so much, he created a plan that would enable us to become just like him - exalted, resurrected, and glorified. This plan was called the plan of salvation, or the plan of happiness. We chose to follow this plan because we knew it was true.
Heavenly Father chose Jesus, his firstborn son, to be our Savior.
Heavenly Father and Jesus created this beautiful earth for us to live on. They provided us with everything here that we would need to live and be happy.
Everyone that chose to follow Jesus would have a chance to come to earth. Your Mom and Dad were two of those people. They love each other very much, and they also love you and your sisters very much. Even before you came to earth, they loved you so much that they lived their lives worthy to be married in the Lord's way in one of His holy Temples. There they were sealed for time and all eternity so that you could be a family forever.
One beautiful spring day, it was your turn to come to earth. On April 22nd, 2004, you moved from your heavenly home to your earthly home. So many people were waiting to love you and to take care of you. Your family was so happy that you came to earth to be part of our family.
You were blessed on June 27, 2004 by your father.
Football | Soccer | You came to earth with so many special gifts and talents. You began to learn how to develop those talents, and to use them to bless others and to serve Heavenly Father.
 Boating Lake Powell
Since you have come to this earth, you have learned many things. You have learned that it is wonderful to be loved and cared for, and to be part of an eternal family.
Little by little you have learned about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his teachings while he was here on earth. Heavenly Father and Jesus love you very much, and they will always be there to help you follow Jesus's example.
Heavenly Father gives us many chances to help us grow closer to him.
There are many wonderful things to do here on earth and so many things to learn. This life is the time to learn to choose good and to love others.
Every day you make others happy. You share your smiles and hugs and you always help others to feel happy. You are such a good helper in your family.
You are a blessing to everyone who knows you! | Bro DUDE
You have the great blessing of having many friends. Our friends can help us have fun and they can also help us choose the right. Value your relationships with your friends and family. | Families are Forever.
Day by day, month-by-month, year-by-year, we learn to love and to grow together. Each day here helps us prepare to be together as a family forever. Sharing experiences together helps us learn to live and love, as the Savior wants us to. | Brother
Heavenly Father has given us others to help us on this earth. President Monson is Heavenly Father's Prophet on the earth today. He loves you, and if you follow his guidance you will be happy.
Because you chose to follow Heavenly Father's plan, you have come to earth. By making the choice to be baptized, you are continuing to follow Heavenly Father's plan. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist to show us an example.
Whenever Heavenly Father's true church has been on the earth, his people have been baptized. It is important that we are baptized by someone who has the proper authority to perform that baptism. The proper authority is called the Holy Priesthood. Today you will be baptized by your father. He holds the priesthood authority.
After baptism, you are confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. You will receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost helps us to choose the right, and can help you to be safe and happy.
When we are baptized, we promise that we will take upon us the name of Jesus Christ. This means that we will try to say and think what the Savior would have us do. It means that when others see us, they think of the Savior because the things we do and say are kind and honest.
My Baptism Promise When we are baptized, we promise that we will always remember Jesus. This means that we will think about Him every day and always try to make Him happy. When we are baptized we also promise to stand as a witness of God in all times and in all places. We also promise that we will always keep his commandments, so that he can pour out his Spirit upon us. We also promise that we will bear one another's burdens and mourn for those that mourn. This means that we will serve others with a happy heart, and that when someone else is sad we will help them try to feel better. It also means that we will do all that we can to be just like Jesus every day of our life.
 I make this promise...
Because God loves us, he has given us his teachings.
Even though all of this might seem hard, Heavenly Father has not left you alone. He has given you prayer, prophets and the scriptures and so many people who love you and who can help you choose the right. It is important to read and study the scriptures by yourself and also with your family. You can follow the example of those who have gone before you and who have sacrificed so much so that you could live in this wonderful land and enjoy the blessings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is our Lord and our Savior and He LOVES you. The Book of Mormon is true. Heavenly Father lives and he loves you. The atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ remind us that through God's grace, we can live with Him and with our family for all eternity if we choose to follow his commandments.
Congratulations Caden on your Baptism Day! We are so very proud of you! We love you!
