BC: Just Married...

FC: Mr. & Mrs. Matthew and Angela Rasmussen

1: We had been planning our wedding for the last year and a half. After multiple options fell through and the subject of planning became a bit of a sore subject, we came up with the ultimate "Fix-All" solution... The day before our second year anniversary, with what started as a joke to go 'downtown' and elope as celebration of our two years together, quickly turned into a full-blown, last minute, spontaneous plan to take a day trip to Las Vegas the following morning. Without telling anyone about our idea, we scurried about our day gathering the few but necessary items needed for a Las Vegas wedding. Later that night, we packed a small suitcase containing not much more than our toothbrushes and my dress into the car. We were ready, and after typing up a note to leave for his parents we relaxed a little thinking that the hard part was over. It wasn't more than ten minutes after we took the dress to the car when Matt came to me to tell me that his mom had noticed it was gone. Petrified, I hid from her the rest of the night thinking that she would surly come looking for me to ask where it was. The very next morning we snuck out of the house and were on our way to the 'Eloping Capital of the World' to wed that very day. Boy, were we relieved that Glenda didn't come asking me questions the night before... We arrived in the city of Las Vegas at 2:08pm and with nothing previously planned, we continued our journey figuring out our wedding agenda. Within two hours of arriving, we had planned our entire event, but not without the amazing help of our wedding planner, which was part of the wedding package. Immediately after fitting a tux, finding the chapel, and getting our suite at the Stratosphere, we headed to the courthouse to get our marriage license. Twenty minutes later we had it and then proceeded back to the hotel to get ready by 7:00pm. We both vigorously showered, dressed, and perfected our hair and my make-up. We were getting very close to our deadline when I informed Matt that he would need to lace up the back of my dress (this is the only picture that we regret not getting). You should have seen the look on his face and heard the frantic sound in his voice. He was very nervous because he had never even seen my dress until now and he had obviously never laced one up before either. Feww! He was very relieved to find out that though it looked difficult, it was actually very easy and fast. We were ready with only minutes to spare and our limo took us to the beautiful chapel to be married. Everything about the evening was beautiful, amazing, and right. We are both so very glad that we got married this way, it was nothing less than perfect, and we could have never imagined that a Vegas wedding could be so classy and at the same time, easy to plan. We truly had the time of our lives and we feel truly blessed because it could not have happend so smoothly without the hand of God. It wasn't until later that evening when we called Matt's parents and found out that they didn't even find our letter. What a relief, we thought they were mad at us. It took us a couple of days to inform everyone else of the great news. You might think that people would have been upset or mad, but everyone was very excited and happy for us. They all knew how long we had been planning and how many times things fell through, so there was a sense of understanding and relief. In closing, we are officially Mr. & Mrs. Matthew and Angela Rasmussen and we wed on our second year anniversary, June 29th 2009 in Las Vegas, NV
