S: My Challenges and Changes Assignment
FC: Guestbook | My Changes and Challenges Assignment
My name is Ghiwa Charbel. I am a 12 year old girl. I was born in Lebanon on the 16th of August, in the year 1998. My family and I came to Australia as foreigners when i was of 4 years of age. However, my sisters and i were enrolled at St.Charbel's College to learn and become successful citizens of this country. The only countries I have been to are, my homeland Lebanon, and my current home, Australia.
My family is made up of 5 people. My dad, Nicolas, my mum, Rima, my 2 sisters, Hiba and Fida, amd myself. We live in a big, comfortable house at 76 Wattle Street Punchbowl.
 I Love You
I enjoy playing sports, listening to music, spending time with friends and playing with animals. I am a fun and crazy person to hang out with. I'm easy going and I have a great sense of humour. I strongly believe that every person should fight for their rights and especially for equality. I am a sporty, nice, kind, friendly, generous person and I'm good with animals. I have had many pets in my life such as, a wonderful dog named Bella, cats and birds. Sport is not just a hobby, but a passion! I have represented the school in many different types of sport, such s, football, soccer and volleyball. I love sport because it keeps me fit and healthy as well as the fact that it allows me to spend time playing games with all my friends. Animals are just a wonderful part of nature and the one animal that has truely touched my heart is my pet dog Bella.. Unfortunately , we were unable to keep her, but she will always be in the heart and memory. Animals are very friendly, they simply show us the bright side of the world, as well as how fun it could be.
The Best Day of My Live
 I will love you forever
I am a Maronite Catholic. I am very religious and I enjoy learning more about my religion. I pray everyday for everyone, especially for those who are in need and for all the departed.
My most prized possession is my Bible! I enjoy reading what my Lord, Jesus Christ, has done and will always do for us and I try to resemble him in every way possible. I also strongly value my family and friends as they are always by my side and I thank the Lord for giving me such people.
My friends are not ordered in favourites, I value each and every one of them equally and it's always pleasure to be around them. However, the friends that i feel most comfortable around are Lousia, Claudia Gerges, Claudia Seif, Celine, Nour, Dorothy, Mary, Rachel and Sandra.
One positive challenge I have faced is that I have become more organised with the things I do such as finishing my homework on time and having the right books. Another positive challenge was that I have become more responsible and careful as well as being able to concentrate more in class.
However, there were negative challenges as well, such as having a locker. This made me struggle a lot but I tended to get through it eventually by getting the books I want to take to school organised the night before. I then put them in my small blue bag; ready to be placed in my locker the next day. Another difficult challenge was the amount of homework I received. However, I managed this by completing most of the homework I get on the same day and having reminders on the wall in my room. This helped me complete all tasks on time.
If a year 6 student was to come to high school, the 5 coping strategies I would give them are to be organised, responsible, and to have good time management skills. I’d also tell them not to leave everything to the last minute and to behave themselves. And just because they’re in high school, it doesn’t give them the right to mess around and not listen to their teachers’ instructions. I’d also advise them to be polite and friendly and make as many friends as they can. If they need help throughout all of this I would suggest for them to speak to a school counselor, talk to their parents and teachers , siblings and their friends or even call the kids helpline.
Now that I’m in high school, I have set 2 short term goals and 2 long term goals. The short term goals are to complete all my homework on time and to become a better person to everyone around me by being more patient and friendly. My long term goals are to get good grades at school and to participate during classes in any sporting activities without winging or nagging.
One change I expect to have to deal with in the next five years is the study load and having to sit for my HSC. This will be extremely difficult and tiring, leading to late and lonely nights full of studying. I have to study very hard every day. I would have to try and decrease the use of internet to chat and play with my friends. I would also have to complete all tasks I get. I would have to spend my time effectively instead of mucking around and watching T.V continuously for many hours. It is going to be a very difficult journey I have to take, as the rest of my academic life depends on this test as it will give me the chance to succeed in life and have the job I always dreamed to have and desired, such as becoming a lawyer, and/or an actress. If I would like to have a successful job, I must work hard in order to get good grades and be accepted in university to do the desired degree.
