FC: Freshman Year
 Nashoba | High School
NEW YEAR | New School | NEW PEOPLE
If I was rating my whole freshman year I would give it a B. I really like having more independence but, the work load is a lot more. I enjoyed having more students in the grade, since in middle and elementary school we only had a class of less then 100 coming to high school and combining with both Bolton and Lancaster was fun. It defiantly changed a lot of things , I remember almost our whole grade being so sad about leaving Hale and now no one wants to go back. Walking into school the first day was pretty overwhelming since none of us had ever been in such a confusing school. I remember getting lost many times in the first month. But, luckily there were always the soccer players to help us out. What made this year so much fun was all the new faces and having teachers trust you more. We have way more independence now. But, that also gives us more responsibility, which can be scary. The work load was piled on starting with the first month of school. It made me very stressed. But, take it one week at a time and it goes by in the blink of an eye! | Rate Of My Year
Field Guide to Gym Teachers | The retired army officer: Will spend 80% of the class warming up with vigorous exercises and spend the whole time yelling orders. or telling you about his time in the army. | The Enthusiast: | The Push- Over: We all learn what these teachers are like the first month of school, they are the gyn teachers that never plan anything and let you figure out what you want to do and you pick your own teams. What ever you suggest they will go with. | The teacher that will fully grade you on how active you are. Expects you to go "try-hard" throughout the entire gym class. And is Very enthusiastic about every game.
The High School athlete | The Lazy teacher | You can tell they don't really want to be there. They act angry all class and let you do whatever you want and never watch. Everyone ends up getting full credit. | Loves all the athletes and is always talking sports with the guys. Gets very intense during class but, only towards the guys he knows. Will always talk about being the high school jock and has some injury that stopped him from making it.
 My Schedule | Period Room Class Teacher | A Enviormental Science Acc b Spanish I Hon. c English Acc d Algebra 2 and Triganometry e Study/ceramics f(odd) Gym g History B C D E F G | 169 163 215 101 403B Gym 259 | Mrs. Doucette Sr. Nicole Mrs. Hoover Dr.T Mr.Emerson Mr.Cullinane
Science I had Mrs.Doucette. Freshman are not her favorite. I liked all the labs we did but, when we take a lot of notes in her class which i didn't like. You learn, in her class, some of the labs are fun and some you just have to get through. | Spanish I did not like this class starting out. With Señor Nicole it was all business and it took a while to get used to. But, after i got going the class ended up being kind of fun and i learned SO much. You definitely want him as a teacher. | English This class is a bunch of fun! You read a lot of books and usually watch 1 or maybe up to 4 movies on one book.
History You go through like every chapter in the book. Never forget to do your homework because he never forgets to check it and you never know when there will be a pop quiz | Math WOW! You 100% want Dr.T as your teacher. She knows so much and really is one of that teachers that is amazing at her job.
Study This class is amazing! Great way to catch up on work and the teacher always gives out free candy! try to get out of Study as quick as possible so you can go out into the cafeteria. | Gym I did not have a good gym expirence. This year i went through about 3 or 4 gym teachers and was really confusing. | Ceramics Avoid this class if you dont like art! I dont and it was just frustrating and had no point in my opinion. But, the teacher is super fun.
Trouble | Events Probably the most popular event for all grades are the highschool football games. Some people even watch the game but, most just go to socialize and have fun. Scott's school is the same way, except their football team was bad! Classes/Teachers/ Homework Just like Scott it took me a while to get used to the new workload. With new classes, teachers and more homework, we both struggled to find free time. | Getting lost! I got lost pretty much the entire first month! It took me a while to figure out where everything was but now i know! Friends Make sure to travel with your friends. It's less scary. When your with your friends, school is a lot more fun.Scott's friends all seemed to move apart in the beginning of sleeping freshman never lie but, mine always stayed together. | First week
Appearance | Free time | Surprises
 5. Don't always spend an hour getting ready for school, it's too much work and you will just be tired all day. | 1. Stay friends with people from your town but, don't feel trapped. Try to branch out and make new friends from other towns. | Survival Tips | 2. Start off making a good impression on your teacher, Trust me they will remember
 3. Join a team, club ect. You will make friends that like the same thing you do. | Seven ways to survive High school. | 4. Travel in groups the last month of school. Since it's seniors last few weeks they enjoy to throw water at you. | 6. Actually use your locker. Don't try to carry everything around in your backpack. | 7. STAY ORGINIZED! it may seem easy but it's hard and it really does help. Since my friend's locker and mine was so messy this year i was always late for class trying to find something
Surviving the High School Work Load I found that during the times i was more busy i got alot more done. Since i i was on a time limit it pushed me to get all my work done. So my advice is to keep track of your time and find ways to make yourself busy. When you are busy you dont spend time just laying down and doing nothing. When i did this i usually didn't end up getting all my homework done. During the seasons when i was busy my grades actually went up! It's not so much if your break it up into sections. | Make New friends but Keep the old... There's about 200 new kids to meet from other towns coming in to highschool. That's pretty scary to think about. I know most people aren't excited about all the new kids but, trust me its so much better. Don't ditch your old friends but, make sure to branch out. You don't want to be stuck with a small group or with your close group. | Journal Entries
Dress Code Dont worry too much about it! The code is a lot less strict then middle school. The only people who catch you are the secretaries. So, if you do have to go into the office make sure you are following the dress code. But, teachers don't care about it if you aren't way to over the top. | Extra Curricular Activities
