52: 1/23: Christmas Mountain w/ the Krugers. Too warm though to go skiing, so we went tubing instead. 2/7: Luke and Jeff had fun playing indoor "baseball" with an empty cardboard poster tube and a Nerf baseball in the kitchen. 2/12: Jake's 1st school dance (6th grade only). On the way to the dance, Kris asked Ben Reed what they were going to do on Saturday. Jake started to answer that they were going to... (play), but Ben interrupted to say "hang" instead - playing Legos that is. Jake had fun at the dance, but didn't mention much other than that he did dance with his friends. Some others were "dating" which apparently means liking each other. 2/21: Cascade with Cub Scout Pack 24. Ella skied on her own for the first time; using a sail technique with her hands straight out to the side. All enjoyed "Cottontail"; a beginner's terrain park. 2/25: Jake approached Jeff for the first time to talk about a girl; wanting to know if he could ask Maddie Henkel to be his girlfriend. Jeff asked him what he meant by that and explained what most people define as a girlfriend. He explained that he had some physical attraction and would like to be able to sit with her at lunch and dance with her at the school dances. I said that was fine, but he'd have to wait until sometime in high school to actually date. Apparently 6th graders now equate dating to merely liking a boy or girl. l have "girlfriends." 2/27: Luke finished 4th overall and 1st (of 8) in his Bear den in the Pack 24 Pinewood Derby. | 2010
53: 9/18: Luke made a huge classic interception right in front of his dad on the sidelines; jumping in front of the receiver and racing down the sidelines for a near-full-length field touchdown run. Afterward numerous parents complimented him on an outstanding play, including the opposing team and several parents from his former Chiefs flag football team (Tina Carr, Emily, Morgan, & Terry Stelpflug, Scott Gross). | Back Row (L-R): Joe Henning, Jeff Schraufnagel, Jack Carrington, Mark Anderson Middle Row: Garrett Anderson, Kowalski, Christian Shepard, Jackson Strombeck, Carter Ihrke, Chase Carrington, Luke Gundrum Front Row: Addison Henning, Ryan Brown, Luke Schraufnagel, Bryce Marmes, Steven Pink | Lake Country Chiefs Flag Football
