27: A bio bay is a body of water that contains millions of micro-organisms, called “dinoflagellates”, that glow in the dark for a second when agitated. It is a rare, natural wonder that you can easily experience while visiting Puerto Rico. It is best seen on a dark night, try to go when it is moonless or close to it. It also is best on a warm night. But even on a less than ideal night, the bioluminescence will be visible. It is a fragile environment, that can be destroyed by excessive abuse from motor oil, sunscreen and bug repellent.

32: Pronounced Ko-Kee, this tiny 1" frog gets its name from its melodious lullaby which is performs nightly throughout the island. Found only in Pureto Rico, it has became a symbol, or mascot, for its inhabitants. Haley decided to catch one and convinced Dave it was a good idea. After climbing on a neighbors wall and getting questioned by a car load of passing natives, they accomplished their goal. Finding out later, it is almost impossible to catch a Coqui frog. | Catching the elusive Puerto Rican coqui frog. | El Coqui | You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find the handsome prince.

46: Historic Old San Juan is the second oldest city in the "New World" dating back to 1513. From Magnificent 18th century Spanish architecture to cobblestone streets.

48: Our hotel was in the heart of Old San Juan and very charming until.....Andy and Sylvia went to bed at 2:00 am and found the disco was located directly beneath their bedroom. Answer: Get Haley and go dance the night away.

50: Castillo San Cristobal | with it's sprawling outer defenses, was built over 150 years to protect El Morro and the city from land attack. Inspired by such attacks by rivals England (1598) and Holland (1625), was designed by the Irish born Chief Engineer Thomas O'Daly.

95: We couldn't get enough of the beautiful water. The Ocean was so many shades of blue and green but Carlee preferred the pool.

99: We loved going down to the beach after eating dinner to enjoy the sound of the waves and to chat with the local stray dogs. They were all sweet and tame.

102: Even amongst the busy open air PUNTA CANA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT a Cat finds a cozy place to nap.

103: Spent Night in Washington DC, thanks to United Airlines screw ups | This is as close as Carlee got to the Monuments | But eventually we were "HOME SWEET HOME" and reliving our vacation memories. | Pam and I spent 2 hours on the phone with customer service to keep from flying through Houston to get back to Columbus.
