BC: The End

FC: Andrew Schwartz | A Child Called "It"

Freedom is earned, through hope and belief, it is what brings us all peace. | This poem accurately represents Dave's view. He needed to believe in himself if he ever wanted to be free. Freedom is what kept him going. The hope of freedom is all he had to live for.

The newspaper articles shed the real light on child abuse. This abuse case was the third worse in California's history. Horrible people are out there, committing this serious crime and stories like these help people realize the evil.

This diary entry gives a personal insight on his everyday thoughts. What he went through and how he needed a will to live. Sometimes, he felt lower than an animal, and was constantly treated like one. His hope and determination is what kept him alive.

Dave's Diary Today, I was lucky to get the scraps the dogs didn't want. Day after day, the beatings become common but today was odd. Mother stabbed me with a knife in the stomach, which was excruciating. I couldn't walk without stepping in blood. She didn't even take me to the hospital. I continued on with my chores and the hope to someday leave this hellhole. I will be free.

This is David's report card and nurse report. They both show the struggles David goes through each and every day, just to live. He has to steal food just to get some. His mom even made him throw up the contents of his stomach to make sure he didn't eat. Even though he was in poor shape, he had a will to live.

These pictures symbolize the long, hard struggle David went through. For being a young child, he was very strong. He hoped for freedom and never gave in to the idea of not achieving that dream. The dream one day, he will live a normal and healthy life.

These letters from David to his mom represent the courage David has. It took him a while, but he eventually built up the courage to stand against his mother. David showed pure strength in his long struggle to be free.

This recipe is for David's freedom from his mother. He knew he had to escape eventually, but he didn't have the confidence to do so. It took a lot of resilience to stand up and escape. After long years of dreaming, his dream came true.

 Finished Product: FREEDOM

These are emails are between David and his father. David relied on his father to help sneak him some food and help him out as best he can. David believed in his father everyday that he would help him. It was another reason to keep living.

This party invite and thank you card shows how isolated David was from everyone else. He couldn't go anywhere and had to do his chores. He was hated by all the kids at school and he had no real friends. It took a lot of strength to get through the situation and keep his will to live strong.

The End Child Abuse is not right. If you suspect it, tell someone

 The END Thanks for reading

A family is pieced together with hope and faith. A family is quilted and bound with love and grace.
