Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories. CathyAllen | Be nice Written and Illusrtated by: Alex Merritt Frapichino PUBLISHING 2010

Once upon a time, there was a young boy named Greg. He was the smallest boy boy in his tiny country town called Venango. Now, you see Greg wasn’t the best or strongest boy around, but he was very happy playing baseball.

One day, he was walking down the street. He saw a few other boys playing baseball. As quick as he could, he ran back home, grabbed his mitt and a baseball bat and went back to the boys. When the boys saw him coming, they looked at his tiny stature and sighed, knowing that one of the teams would have to take the runt. The boys knew he wasn’t the best baseball player around, considering he tried out for the team and didn’t make it 3 years in a row now.

All things grow better with love. | After a long game of baseball, Greg went back home. He was very sad because nobody would let him play. All the other boys were mean to him and they made fun of him. So Greg went home very sad.

When he got home, his mother asked him what was wrong and he told her nobody would let him play. His mother tried to give him advice like playing with different people but if you live in the sticks, there's not alot of people to chose from. He told his mom that he was just as good as the other boys, but he couldn't prove himself because the other boys wouldn't let him play.

His mother told him not to worry about the mean boys and get some sleep and that tomarrow would be a better day. That night, he dreamed about going to the Championship baseball game.

The next day, he went to play baseball. The typical reaction came from the other players. But Greg was ready to show the other players that he can play baseball just as well as the rest of them. When he stepped up to the plate, he got into his stance and awaited the pitch. When it came, he swung as hard as he could. He watched it go on forever. Then he watched it land on the ground...on the other side of the fence. From then on he was counted as a good player. And the other boys were sorry then didn't include him before.
