3: Antone's Night Club | Antone's first opened during the summer of 1975 on 6th in Austin, Texas. Today the club is located on 5th and Lavaca street. The club was founded by Clifford Antone and is famous for hosting legendary blues acts. Stevie RayVaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and the Los Lonely Boys all launched their careers at this nightclub. This music venue has won several awards including Nightclub of the Year by USA Today. Antone's offers a wonderful live music experiences to all ages. Venue Blues

4: Beyonce | Beyonce wanted to be a super star ever since she was a little girl. She reached that goal at age twenty-one. Her little sister Flange is following in her footsteps. She became an actress as well as a worldwide pop star. The song "crazy in love" features her boyfriend the rapper Jay-Z. Solo Artist Pop

5: Balcony Club | The Balcony Club is a hole in the wall jazz club located in Dallas, Texas. This club won the Reader's Pick Best Jazz Club in 2010. The Balcony Club has live Jazz music almost every night of the week. The is located upstairs and has a cozy, romantic atmosphere. It is a top travel destination when visiting Dallas. Venue Jazz

6: Don Henley | Don Henley was born in Gilmer ,Texas on July 22, 1947. He is most famous for being a drummer and vocalist with the Eagles. The Eagles were an enormously successful rock band that sold over 80 million albums world wide. Don Henley is also known for his work in preserving the environment. He grew up 30 miles from Caddo Lake, wetlands area. He started the Caddo Lake institute in 1992 to study and protect the East Texas Lake. Solo Artist Band

7: The Eyes of Texas | " The Eyes of Texas" was written byJohn Sinclair in 1903. The song was first performed by the UT Longhorn Band. This song is set to the tune "I've been working on Railroad." It was originally written to poke fun at the University of Texas President, Colonel Pranther. Today, this song is the official anthem of the University of Texas. Song Traditional

8: Kerrville Folk Festival | The Kerrville Folk Festival takes place each year on the Quiet Valley Ranch just south of the Kerrville, Texas. This is a family oriented event in which people can camp, do outdoor activities as well as listening to music.The Kerrville Folk Festival was founded by Rod Kennedy in 1972. The festival runs for 18 strait days each May and June. Over 30,000 people each year come to the festival to enjoy the music and fun. Festival Folk/Bluegrass

9: Grimnasty | "Grimnasty" is a local, Austin Hip Hop Band. They are formerly as King Solomon "Ruler of the Wasteland." They have performed in Nashville, Missouri, Louisiana, LA and Texas. Grim and his partner, Erik Hicks are currently producing a new a new LP produced by Phantazm Co. Their new single ''I've got Cha'vibe" is currently getting rave reviews. Solo Artist Hip Hop

10: Buddy Holly | Buddy Holly was born on September 7, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas. Buddy was raised in a musical household and began piano, violin and guitar lesson at an early age. Buddy Holly. over the years became a well known song writer, singer and Rock and Roll Musician. Buddy Holly and his band the cricket became a phenomenon during 1950's. On February 3, 1959, Buddy Holly died in a plane Solo Artist Rock

11: Iguana Grill | Iguana Grill is located is located over looking lake Travis in Austin, Texas. This resturant has been open since 1995. Iguana Grill serves delicious Mexican food as well as a venue for live music. The Grill hosts a variety of live music acts on the weekends, including jazz, rock and blues. Venue Variety of Music

12: Jerry Jeff Walker | Jerry Jeff Walker was born on March 16, 1942 in Oteonta, New York. During his teen years he was in a band called The Tones. In 1963, Walker began playing the guitar. In the late 1960's he was in a jazz band called Circus Maximus. In 1970, he moved to Austin, Texas. Jerry Jeffy began playing country- rock music. In Austin, he hung out with Willy Nelson, Guy Clark and Waylon Jennings. Solo Artist Country/Rock

13: Kelly Clarkson | Kelly was born on April 24, 1982. After graduating from High school in 2000 she moved to L.A. to pursue her music career. Eventually, she became a female vocalist with songwriter Gerry Goffin. She became the 10,000 contestant on American Idol. Solo Artist Pop

14: Austin City Limits | Austin City Limits Festival takes place in the Zilker park area of Austin, Texas each year at the end of summer. The festival began in 2002 and was organized by an artist management company called C3. This Festival is one of the United Sates' top music festivals. It can draw a crowd of 75,000 people a day. This Festival features a variety of music acts including Rock, Hip Hop, Blues, Country Jazz and Folk. Festival Variety of Music

15: Craig Morris | Craig Morris is a famous, world class trumpeter. He was born in Texas in 1968 and grew up in a musical family. He attended the University of Texas and the San Francisco conservatory of Music. Craig Morris became well known when he won the position as Principal Trumpet player for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has also been a featured soloist at Carnegige Hall. Solo Artist Classical

16: Naososta Blues Festival | A man named Glen Alyn inspired the funding of the Nasosta Blues Festival. The first festival occurred in May. It is held on the Grimes County Expo Center Fairgrounds in Navasota, Texas. The festivals purpose is to keep blues music alive and bring together regional musicians. Local citizens and businesses sponsor this event. Venue Blues

17: On the Road Again | On the Road Again was writen by Willie Nelsonand Canned Heat Preformed a different version of the song. The song was created first by Canned Heat in 1968. It reached number 8 on the Uk singles chart. It was adapted by Alan Wilson.Canned Heat has a unique blend of modern electric blues, and rock. Song Country

18: Postman | The Fabulous Thunderbirds are a band with roots in Austin ,Texas. "Postman" is a song on the"Painted On" album. This album was released in 2005. "Postman" is sung by the lead singer for the T-Birds, Jimmie Vaughan. This song falls into the Blues/Rock musical genre. Song Blues

19: Quick Drawl | The band " Quick Drawl" is based out of the Austin, Texas area. This band has been compared to a cross between Lynard Skynyard and the Eagles. Quick Drawl plays a mix of bluegrass, country and rock. Musicians in the band play guitars, mandolins, bass and fiddles. Their first album was released in 1999. Band Bluegrass

20: Round Top Festival Round Top was created over thirty years ago by Emma Lee Turney. No one knows how big it is because i grows almost every time it's held. They're at least 2,500 dealers and thirty-five different show locations. It occurs in the first full weekend in April and October every year. Venue Classical

21: Broken Spoke | TheBroken Spoke is located in South Austin. It was opened by James White in 1964. The broken Spoken is considered one of the best Honky Tonk music in Texas. Some of the famous musicians that have preformed there include Bob Wills, Willie Nelson, and George Strait. It is the place to be if you want to have fun and dance. Venue Country

22: Texas Instruments | Band Jazz | Texas instruments consists of saxes, trumpets, trombones, a rhythm section, and a vocalist. It was formed in the summer of 1986. The band has remained active since it's inception They rehearses every Tuesday night. Texas Instruments studies the form of jazz. People that were in the band include Clark Terry and Bobby Shew.

23: Urban Music Festival | The Urban Music Festival is celebrated each year in Austin, Texas. The Festival first began six years ago. It is held on Auditorium Shores in downtown Austin. The Urban Music Festival features Hip-hop and soul music. This festival is organized by the Urban Life Group. Festival Hip-hop/ Soul

24: Stevie Ruy Vaughn | He was born on October 3, 1954. Stevie received his first guitar during 1961. He called it a plastic toy with tree strings. During 1970 his friend Doyle Bramhall heard him play for the first time. Stevie joined Ray and the Cobras during 1974. Solo Rhythm Blues

25: Armadillo World Headquarters | In August 7, 1970, Eddie Wilson opened the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin. Between 1970 and 1980 thousands of artists performed at the Armadillo, many of whom stared their careers by being heard there. The room held about 1,500 people. At the Headquarters, Willie Nelson became the leader of an outlaw musical movement. The music that resulted from the movement was called "redneck rock" or the "cosmic cowboy" sound, a new mix of traditional folk, tejano, blues, pop, psychedelia. Sadly in 1980, the Armadillo World Headquarters closed its doors. Later it was knocked over to make parking spaces and an office building. Venue Variety of Music

26: All My X' live in Texas | The song was released in April, 1987. It was the second single from George's album. the album was called Ocean Front Property. A different version of the song appeared in 1989.It also appeared in 2004 Grand Theft Auto. Song Country

27: Yellow Rose of Texas | The song was written in 1836. It was probably transcribed before or after Sam Houston lead his bridge of Texas loyalists. The original copy was full of spelling errors because the transcriber was somewhat uneducated. In 1858 the first copyrighted version was made. Although no name is given as the songs composer there is a hint from the forth line of the song. Song Traditional Folk

28: ZZ Top | The band formed in Houston during the 1970s. Their top duet single was called salt lick. Tres Hombres. It was a powerful exciting set that drew from delta music. They took a vacation from the band in 1976. Band Rock
