BC: Thank You | from the bottom of our hearts
FC: Andrew | & | Samantha
Hello, We want to start out by saying how very grateful we are for someone like you who is choosing to give the gift of life. We cannot pretend to know the pain that you may be feeling or what you are going through as you read these letters and make your decision, but we want you to know that we respect and support you during this difficult time. You and your baby are continually in our prayers. We believe that your consideration in making an adoption plan shows how selfless and giving you are. We want you to know that if you choose us, we will share with this child all of the love and care he or she could ever ask for. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this letter and learn more about us. Warmly, | Andrew & Samantha
About Us | Why we want to adopt: Adoption has always held a special place in both of our hearts. Between the two of us we have five adopted siblings. Andrew has one sister who was adopted domestically and two sisters who were adopted from China. Samantha has two sisters who were adopted from Russia. There are also several kids in our extended families who were adopted. From the beginning of our relationship we discussed with each other how we someday hoped to grow our family through adoption. Although we did experience some difficulty getting pregnant, we recognized that God was leading us to adoption and for that we are so grateful. | Dancing the night away at our wedding
Hanging out at our favorite beach, Hug Point | From top to bottom: Another day at the beach; Our "Honey" moon at Disneyland; Beautiful Hawaii sunset; Playing guitar at the beach (Andrew's actually the one who plays guitar...Sam just likes to pretend) | "It's never mattered to us how we become parents. We just want to be a mom and dad." | Seattle Mariners Game
Playing Mickey's Piano at Disneyland | Andrew talks about Samantha: | Jackson loves cooking with "Aunt Nam" | Teaching our friend Katie how to hula hoop | Miss Alivia (Our niece) | Samantha is such an amazing woman. Every day her caring, gentle spirit shines through in every aspect of her life. She's always coming up with fun and creative things to do, and not a day goes by that she doesn't make me laugh. When her niece and nephew visit, we all get to help her bake and enjoy her delicious creations. Working full time as a medical assistant in a doctor's office, her patients seem to warm up to her immediately and feel relaxed around her as she cares for them. Ever since she was a little girl, Samantha has wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and I'm so happy she'll get to be one. Her deep devotion to her faith and her relationship with her family are the most important things in her life, and I am so blessed to have her as my wife and the mother of our child. | Together we make one mean chocolate chip cookie | "Samantha has always wanted to be a mother, and I know she can't wait to dedicate her life to loving and caring for our child."
Samantha talks about Andrew: | Goofing around in Toon Town | At the Rose Festival with Andrew's sister Carrie | Andrew is a really incredible guy, and I am one lucky girl to have him for a husband. He loves to be with his family above all else. He's a leader and he always puts the needs of others before his own. He's a hard worker both at work and at home and I am always amazed at all of the things he can accomplish. He's also a big goof ball, and is always making people laugh. Andrew works full time as a web designer and also volunteers his skills, but he still finds time to hang out with family and friends. If you were to ask him what the most important things in his life are he would tell you his faith and family. He is the kind of guy who would drop everything to help you if you needed him. | "I can't wait to see Andrew as a dad. He is so kind and loving. I know that he is going to be an amazing father." | Andrew and Alivia
Our Families | We can't say enough good stuff about our families. We feel very blessed that we both come from such close-knit families. They have provided such an amazing support system and they are more than supportive of our decision to adopt. We get together with each of our families as often as we can as they all live less than an hour away from us. We love to get together for celebrations and game nights...or to just hang out and play "Just Dance" on the Wii. Andrew has 4 sisters; Sarah, Stacie, Carrie and Anne, and one brother, Tim. Samantha has 4 sisters; Lindsay, Chelsea, Alyona and Olya. Our parents have both been married for over 30 years and have been amazing examples for us to look up to, both in their marriages and parenting styles. | At the pumpkin patch with Sam's family | Sam's sister, Chelsea, had a photo booth at her wedding. Here she is all dressed up with her sisters, cousins, and nephew Jackson | We are also close with our extended families and we are very excited that Sam's grandparents are moving over to Oregon from Idaho soon. | Sam with her sisters
Sam and her brother-in-law Derrick playing "Just Dance" | With Andrew's family at our wedding | Family fun at the rodeo on the 4th of July | Ben | Sarah | Carrie | Tim | Anne | Lexi | Isaac | Brodie | Stacie | Dad | Mom | Stacie's (Andrew's sister) Birthday Dinner | Family Dinner | The family at Sam's sister, Alyona's, graduation
Our Home and Community | We chose our house because we felt it would be the perfect home to raise our family in. It is a one story home with an open floor plan and a family room. Our favorite part of the house is the large fenced backyard. We can't wait to play with our kids back there and have backyard camp outs. We live in a town that is home to a large private university, which attracts people from all walks of life. Our house is within walking distance to a large park, pool and community center. Our neighborhood is made up of mostly young families and there are lots of kids around. | Our home is only a short drive from Portland, where we spend a lot of time, including where we go to church. We're also only about an hour and a half from the beach and the mountains.
Our Neighborhood Park | The Nursery
Our Faith | Our faith has always been an important part of both of our lives. We were both raised in a loving, Christian environment. Our faith has taught us to love others and serve wherever we can. We will strive to be strong spiritual leaders for our children and to teach them about God's love and grace.
Our Traditions | We always go to a tree farm the weekend after Thanksgiving to cut down our own tree. This is followed by dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant and tree decorating. We end the night by watching "It's a Wonderful Life" | The paper crowns are an English Christmas tradition (Sam's Grandma is from England) | Waiting to open presents on Christmas morning... Alivia is content just hanging out with Uncle Andrew | Sam's grandparents have a cabin in Eastern Oregon. We love to spend time there with family. There's a big flea market every summer, a lake, and a ton of great trails for bike riding. It's the perfect place to go when you want to get out of the city.
THE PUP | Meet Winnie, She looks a little like a cross between a lion and a bear and she's as sweet as can be. She has been a constant source of comic relief since we got her almost two years ago. She is a goofy lovable dog who loves playing with our niece and nephew. | We like to make up songs about Winnie. Our favorite one so far is a parody of Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets"- called "Winnie and the Pets."

We promise to love this baby with all of our hearts and everything we have. We promise to raise this baby in a loving, Christian home. We promise to teach this baby the love and respect we have for you and the life you have chosen for this baby. We promise to affirm and support the heritage of this baby's birth family. We are so thankful you took the time to read our letter and hope the best for you and this baby.
