S: An Excellent Ceramic Adventure

BC: The students finished their work and Norm fired for us. A week later he came to the class and we glaze fired at the school. Fantastic experience for all, including Norm!

FC: Norm and Beth Thorson share their studio

1: Norm helps Nikki get started on the wheel by showing her how to pull the sides up on her bowl. Centering is also imperative and he showed how to accomplish that as well.

2: Working with Derek, Norm helped make the proper mix for slip. He showed Nikki how to remove her finished bowl from the wheel.

3: Centering the piece on the wheel proved to be the most difficult part. Derek worked hard to shape his vase, at the right, here.

4: This is Derek hard at work shaping the rim of his vase, and the piece when finished, after tooling the bottom and removing extra clay.

5: Brittany worked hard to create an interesting bowl. | She struggled with centering on an unfamiliar wheel.
