2: The Anglo-Saxon loved to eat and drink. It became a way of life for them. To go into the Mead Hall and have a royal feast with the king was golden. When the food was prepared, it was often cooked in the middle of the house. Everyone enjoyed the eating and the drinking that came about in their lives.
3: Drinking became a way of life for the Anglo-Saxon. They used barley to make this speacial kind of weak beer. They began to drink this beer more than they drank water.
4: A lot of the Anglo-Saxon peopole were vegetarians. | They grew their own food because they could not get meat very often. | They grew things like cereal, vegetables, and fruits to survive off of.
5: They also ate a lot of fish. They could easily go to the river and catch a fish if they desperatley needed something to eat. Their way of living was a little easy for them.
6: Meat that was found was often skinned and cut up into joints. They then turned this meat into stew so that everyone could have some. The stew was cooked in a cauldron over the central hearth of the house.
7: The Anglo-Saxon used to drink fruit juices as well. Some people believed that it was a form of cider. They dank juices such as apple, pear and plum to satisfy them.
