FC: Anglo-Saxon History
1: We know little about the Anglo-Saxon era. The earliest records of them are little more than highly inventive list of rolers.
2: We do know that established seperate kingdoms at first.
3: The Saxons settling in the south an west, the angles in the east and north,& the Jutes on the Isle of wigth and the mainland opposite.
4: Most of them probably thought of themselves as seperate people but they shared a common lanuage and customs.
5: In the summer of 846, the wikings force split up, | one part in east anglia, one part in North-Umbria,& those who were without | property got themselves ships & went south over sea to seine.
6: In 900 alfred,son of Aethelwulf,passed away, six nights before all Saints' Day. | He was King over all the English,except for that part which was under Danish rule:& he held | thet kingdom for one & a half years less than thirty. | In 902 Athelwald came here over the sea with all the ships he could get & i Essex they submitted to him.
