FC: From Me To Johnathan C
 By Tiara Smith
Ever since I was little I've been called Little Johnny C. I got that nickname because I'm the youngest in the family. | My Name is Johnny C and I live on a small piece of land the government gave to me and my family. My mom cooks, cleans, and makes me and my brothers and sisters clothes.
This is the land of the reservation me and my family live on.
I am in the 4th grade at Deer Pond, This is a photo at the beginning of the year of me and my classmates. Here at school we learn about our ancestry and how our tribe came about. We also learn how to speak our Native language, life at school was great.
One day we arrived at school and there was a man in uniform standing in our classroom. We were told this man came to bring us uniform just like the one he was wearing. Everybody in the classroom got excited. We liked these uniforms. Every day after that we were all suppose to wear the same uniform to make us look like we fit in better. After a while of wearing these uniforms none of us liked them anymore.
New uniforms was just the first. Throughout the year we talked about our tribes less and less, along with our language. We started to learn a new language called English. In school we now were taught how to act like what the teachers called, a "white" society. This new change mad us very angry. School was not fun anymore. We no longer kept our original identities. We were now not the same Indian school. Our school had been turned into a Boarding School to teach us how to fit in. I was no longer Little Johnny C, i was now Johnathan C.
