FC: Food and Drink
1: The mead hall was a common gathering place in the Anglo Saxon society it represented a light in the darkness. The name of these halls were established by a common drink known as "Mead"
2: Mead is an alcoholic beverage made with honey and water. The beverage is made as a result of the fermentation of yeast.
3: Communion is necessary for any intelligent society to survive. The mead hall provided a place for the Anglo Saxons to eat and drink together and tell stories.
4: There was little meat for most of the Saxons to eat, as only landowners were allowed to hunt, many members of the Anglo Saxon community had diets similar to vegetarians.
5: A big part of the Anglo Saxon's diet was stew. Little preparation was required for the stew allowing those preparing the food to complete various task along with the job of cooking.
6: Although meat was not a large part of the Saxon's diet pigs were killed for food because they breed quickly and produce many offspring.
