5: Chili Sauce 30 tomatoes 8 small onions 8 med green peppers 1/4 C salt 1 T ground cinnamon 12 t cayenne pepper 1 med apple 5 C sugar 4 C vinegar 2 T ground clove 2 T ground allspice 2 T nutmeg Quarter tomatoes, chop onion, dice peppers and apple mix all ingredients in a kettle. Bring to boil and simmer 3 hours (5 for a double batch) Pour into sterile jars and seal

7: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Cream together: 1 cup butter 1 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar Add: 2 eggs 1 tsp. real vanilla extract Mix together: 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 cups oatmeal (blended into a fine powder) tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda Mix all ingredients well, then add one 24-ounce bag of milk chocolate chips and 1 cups chopped walnuts (or pecans). Drop 1" balls on ungreased cookie sheets, two inches apart, and bake at 375 for 6-8 mins.

8: Tea Drops 1/2 C shortening 2/3 C powdered sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 t grated lemon rind 1 1/2 C sifted flour Work shortening until fluffy. Add powered sugar gradually. Cream until light. Add egg and lemon rind. Add flour. Mix drop by teaspoon in greased sheet and sprinkle with sugar bake 375

9: No Cook Strawberry Freezer Jam 4 c. ripe strawberries 4 c. granulated sugar 1 box Sure-Jell powdered pectin 3/4 c. water . | Wash and hull the berries; crush them completely, a few at a time. (Should end up with 2 cups.) In large bowl, mix together berries and sugar. Let stand 10 minutes. Combine pectin and water in saucepan. Bring to boil, boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir hot pectin into the fruit bowl, continue stirring. Don't worry if sugar is not completely dissolved. Ladle jam into freezer containers. Put lids on immediately. Let stand at room temperature 24 hours or until set. Refrigerate for a few weeks or freeze for up to a year.

10: Chocolate Crinkle Cookies 1/2 cup vegetable oil 4 squares chocolate melted 2 cups sugar 4 eggs 2 t vanilla 2 cups flour 2 t baking powder 1/2 t salt 1 cup powdered sugar Mix oil and sugar. Blend in eggs one at at time. Add vanilla, flour, baking powder and salt. Chill overnight. Drop teaspoons of dough into powdered sugar. Roll and shape into balls. Place 2 “ apart and bake 10-12 mins at 350.

11: Velveeta Fudge 3/4 lb. (12 oz.) velveeta cut into 1/2 inch cubes 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine 6 squares unsweetened chocolate 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup 2 pkg. (16 oz. each) powdered sugar (about 8 cups) 1-1/2 cups chopped pecans 1 tsp. vanilla Place velveeta, butter, chocolate and corn syrup in large microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 2 min. Stir. Microwave an additional minute. Stir until well blended. Add chocolate mixture, in batches, to sugar in large bowl, beating with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended after each addition. Stir in pecans and vanilla. Pour into greased 13x9-inch pan. Cover. Refrigerate several hours or until firm

17: The Wright Family German potato Salad combine: 8 cooked potatoes cubed 1 chopped onion salt and pepper 6-8 slices chopped bacon, brown but don’t drain. Add 1/4 cup vinegar and sugar to make sweet sour Pour bacon mixture over potatoes just before serving Serve with egg noodles: Combine 2 eggs with flour to make a dough. Drop into boiling water with salt. Remove from water when float to top and done. Melt butter. Pour butter over noodles and top with bread crumbs.

19: Cucumbers Wash cucumbers don’t peel score with fork lengthwise and slice Mix together throughly: 2 T sugar 1 t salt 1/8 t white pepper 1/4 t accent 1 t celery salt 1/4 C cider vinegar 1 T lemon juice pour over sliced cucumbers add: 1/4 C thin onion slices 2 T. chopped parsley Toss and chill | Baked Beans I can pork and beans 4 T catchup 2 T brown sugar 1 T vinegar 1 T mustard 1 t worschersire sauce 1 onion chopped Mix all ingredients and bake at 350 | Fruit Salad 1 can fruit cocktail drained 2 bananas sliced mini marshmallows mix together with cool whip

20: Macaroni Salad 1/2 package macaroni cooked 4 hard boiled eggs diced 1/2 pkg. (small) american or velveeta cheese 5 sweet pickles diced 1 onion chopped 1 small jar pimentos 1 T mustard salt to taste Mayonnaise to moisten Mix all together

21: PotatoSalad 4 small cooked potatoes 2 hard boiled eggs diced 5 sweet pickles diced 1 onion chopped 1 t mustard salt to taste mayonnaise (enough to moisten) cut or dice potatoes while still a little warm mix with eggs, pickles, onion. Add rest of ingredients and mix well.

22: Callahans Chicken Catcatori 4-5 lb. chicken 1/2 cup flour 3 t salt 1 t paprika 1/2 t oregano 1/4 t pepper Mix above ingredients, coat chicken and brown in oil 2 Cups stewed tomatoes 1/2 cup chopped onion, celery, and green pepper 1 clove garlic 1 T worcheshire sauce 1/2 cup mushrooms canned In separate pan, put last group of ingredients together and cook in mushroom liquid (keep out mushrooms) cook 5 mins. Add mushrooms and bring to boil. Pour over chicken, cover and cook 1 1/2 hours. Top with grated parmesan cheese

23: Callahans Spaghetti Sauce Cook hamburger with chopped celery, ground pepper and onion. Add garlic salt Italian seasonings chili powder tomatoes tomatoes sauce wine | Cream De Menthe Sauce 1 cup water 2 cups sugar Boil and make syrup 1/2 glass cream de menthe 1/2 glass red sweet wine Add to syrup and boil a little

25: Tom and Jerry’s 6 eggs-separated 2 C sugar pinch soda 2 t rum flavoring 1 t vanilla Beat yokes till very light. Add sugar gradually. While still beating add soda and flavoring. Beat whites until stiff. Add to yokes and mix well. Put 2 T of batter in a cup, add whiskey and mix. Add hot milk, heat and sprinkle with nutmeg.
