50: I remember when I was little, mom would cook for every meal. Everything was homemade. There were no such things as mix's. Mom is the best cook. We had desert every dinner. One time in grade school, while we lived on McClaws road in Holbrook, all of my friends after school, piled into the school bus and rode home to my birthday party. Mom made the | best cupcakes, and the party was a success. We lived in Mesa and Mom was quite the seamstress. She made all of my clothes. It was a lot of fun picking out the material with a pattern. She even made me a swimsuit. Back in Holbrook, I turned 16 years old. Mom and I headed down to the shopping mall in Mesa. It was special shopping time for just the two of us. We used to do a bunch of fun craft activities with the Relief Society. We made rings, jewelry and paper projects. Thanks for being a great Mom! You have always been there for me. Thanks for everything especially for the mutual love of Trader Joe's. Love, Carol

52: Memories of my Mother * I remember coming home one day from 4th grade and my mom had made homemade chocolate chip cookies. She had been sweeping the floor and when I walked in the door she was so happy and bubbly. She fed us cookies and milk. At that time she was stressed and had been looking for a job for over a month and had been unable to get hired. I would never have known that coming home that day. She kept that hidden from us and put on her happy face. * She gave us a wedding reception in Holbrook. Talk about a great reception! The decorations were great and the food was wonderful! | * I can never thank her enough for helping me through college and a mission. Those two things were major milestones in my life. *I loved it when she would play board games with us. * Sometimes I would dress up my barbies and mom would then pick the best dressed one for my "fashion show". * My children love that they enjoy the same hobby as she does which is collecting coins. They have enjoyed her taking them to banks to get two dollar bills and Eisenhower dollars. * We have fond memories of her being on her mission. Mern and Estelle always were so excited to go see Grandma and go to her "work" where there were so many treats! Those were fun trips

53: I remember when we moved to Roswell and we would save quarters and mom would take us to the pay phone to call Grandma. | I remember when I was about 3 or 4 years old. Victoria and I would take our afternoon naps in the double deckers and mom would stand outside our rooms and call our names, we would wake up and run outside to see her. | I was grateful to mom when she gave Melissa and I a bedroom set for our wedding present. We still have it today! | I love playing hide and seek with my mom.
